NEED A LIL HELP FROM SSA
Good enough for your application... lol...ppl around this forum tend to get a bit irked if you mention sq improperly....I interpret what you mean as you want a sub that can get pretty loud and not sound like a$$...am I correct? Also you mentioned low notes earlier....there aren't any low notes in rap...you have a few that dip into the upper 20's (very few) but for the most part the Fi BL seems to be the most frequently recommended hip hop street beating subwoofer....just my .02

Box size vs. frequency response
I only ask because the plan in an 18" Fi BL in the back of my dodge magnum. I was thinking around 8.5-9ft^3 @ 32Hz but if I don't want to sacrifice my entire cargo area, 6.5-7.5ft^3 (also at 32hz) is the best option for me. I was just curious if I would be disappointed in the 30-35 Hz range.

Box size vs. frequency response
Does the size of the box affect how well a subwoofer reproduces different frequencies? For example: if one sub's box is at the upper end of the manufacturer's recommended volume and another's box is at the lower end....both boxes tuned to the same frequency....how will they respond differently? will there even be an audible difference assuming the same power is being used? will the output differ? it may sound like a rudimentary question, but you won't know until you ask...thx

clif designs?
alright let's change gears here....what about image dynamics? anybody actually run any of their components? I'm lookin at these---> http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=1173 . Anybody ever heard em before?

clif designs?
well, yea me too....morel is the only one of those companies i'm remotely familiar with but if the other two are able to be mentioned in the same breath with morel...i can't afford em...correction, i CAN afford their entry level stuff, but not much more. I just thought about those clifs because those two items were their "best" speakers and they were within my price range... any other recommendations for 6.5" comps that are ~100rms for <$400?

clif designs?
the component tweets will be flush mounted in the front doors and the other tweets will be installed in the factory dash locations....clif designs is a part of audiobahn?

clif designs?
Anyone have any experience with this company? Im thinking of running these in the dash--> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5136_C...gns+CD78MT.html and these in the front doors http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5599_C...ns+QX6500C.html all off sax-100.4. Any opinions?

Q vs. BL
That is very helpful man...thank you. As of now I'm looking for the best option for a SAZ-1500d. Box will be about 7.5cubes after port and displacement @30ish Hz. I'm torn between 2 Q15's or 1 BL18. If the difference in output from the 2 15's is negligible, I'll go with the 18...whaddya think?

Q 12D2 power handling
what do you mean by "mechanically depends on box"? A larger vented box reduces the power handling of the subwoofer. If I had a box that's the max recommended volume for a Q, I would send it 750rms....but that's just me being conservative...

Q vs. BL
everyone seems to recommend the saz-1500d for the bl Yep thats what I have mine on SEC, what's ur box tuned to? are there any rap/hip hop songs that you're not satisfied with the bl's performance?

Q vs. BL
are you saying that sub-35hz isn't applicable to my musical selection? if so, i can dig it..lol but what about the handful of rap songs that do dip to around 30 Hz? Can a BL 18 (say in 7.5cubes tuned 30-32hz) still do the dayum thang?

Q vs. BL
There's been several threads comparing the Q's to the BL's and basically it's been summed up as the BL's get greater output and Q's thrive in the low 30's of frequency. However, many BL owners have said that the BL's handle their own down low. Two questions: has anyone had both tuned in low 30's that can accurately compare the two? Since I listen to rap/hip hop mostly, do sub 35Hz frequencies even apply to me? (I only ask because most ppl on here that say they listen to mainly rap get reccommended the BL over the Q) thx guys

all fi bl owners
so has anyone had both bl's and q's for an accurate comparison?

Vote for SAZ-1000D!
I don't know if i missed it somewhere, but other than the heatsink how is the SAE different from the SAZ? I've read that the SAZ is a stronger design...I'm not sure how exactly, but this change is bringing about a lot of buzz...bottom line, if I ordered an SAE-1000d this month would I regret not waiting on the SAZ?

Electrically safe?
i was gonna do 6.5 components in the front doors(that's two channels), 8 inch midbass speakers in rear(two channels), 4" components in dash (two channels), tweets in A-pillars (two channels)..... if i'm all screwed up please fix me because I'm still attempting to learn how to optimize mids/highs/midrange.....i just wanted to ensure that my mid/high frequencies wouldn't be drowned out by my low end.

Electrically safe?
if I do two 1000s there will be 4 amps. I'm also running two sax-100.4's. If all that's too much of a strain I may just shake things up a lil' bit and run a single 1000d on an 18" Q with the pair of 100.4's. This is a non-trunk vehicle (Dodge Magnum) so it's gonna be plenty loud for a daily driver....It's just unfortunate that there aren't any alternators made for my vehicle yet because my ideal setup is two 18BL's on a 3000d!

Electrically safe?
would two sae-1000d's be pushing it then?

Electrically safe?
The plan is to run SAZ-1500D on 2 Fi Q15's and 2 SAX-100.4's. A buddy of mine that's an installer at a stereo shop in the area says that running those amps will be fine on my stock 160A alternator if I use a Kinetik 2400 as my starting battery and add a second 2400 as reserve. Is this an accurate statement, or is my buddy gonna inadvertantly kill my alternator? Also will it even be worth it? Cuz even if it works and doesn't hurt anything, will my voltage stay high enough to get rated power?

15 Icon
They are designed for SQ, but they can handle a good amount of abuse as well. We suggest a 1000wRMS amp for your ICON. I'm currently running a sundown 1500d to my 10D2, but of course the gains are set very conservately. If you would like to run that kink of power, just please know where your limits are. Other then that, enjoy. The subs should be in stock in Aug. We will be taking pre-orders on them at a small discount in the mean time. How would a SAZ-1500D be for 2 Icon 15's?

Best Options for Konaki Recone
^^x2. Playing music below your tuning frequency without a subsonic filter is what's making your subs bottom out. Either: a) Design a new box with a lower tuning frequency (best bet if you wanna continue to beat down low) or b) set your subsonic filter so you don't kill ur woofers
