  1. Do you have a headphone jack to rca splitter? If you do, run from a external source and see if it makes the noise(mp3 player,cd player, etc)
  2. post up pics of the spider and voice coil. Did it make the grinding noise when you pushed it in?
  3. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=10634 Check out this thread, some Sae-1000ds for $225.
  4. Idiotic, I would have invested more into a better body shop.
  5. You should put samson in the port and take pics.
  6. Con: Decreases gas mileage by adding dead weight
  7. def would be a sick daily driver.
  8. Someones buying me a dozen 3500ds, thats cool.
  9. Move the cone with your hand, and see if it feel rough or sticks when you do. Remove the sub from the box and see if there is any visible charring on the voice coil. Also, give us your amp settings like Nick asked for.
  10. sub needs to be connected to get a ohm load
  11. Yeah but I've already figured out that a bunch of 12 gauge will equal 4 gauge, if not more, so if I still have voltage problems after that, I'll just get a cheap cap, but I'm not sure what size cap to get. I'm thinking around 2 farad, the manual on Rockford's site says 1.5 farad, but I wanna get a cheap off brand one, like Boss or something. Buy the 4guage and reuse it later?
  12. Found these floating around
  13. 4guage would help better than a cap for voltage drops.
  14. Well it's not like I have anything seriously loud in there, I have 2 older 12" Orion XTR's, dual 4 ohms, 800 RMS each sub, and their in some crappy (really crappy) prefab sealed box, soon I'll be building a better box for them, probably around 2.5 cubic feet, tuned around 33hz, then they should open up a bit. Oh, and anyone know how big of a capacitor I should run with this thing? Needs to be cheap. Buy 4guage, and screw the cap?
  15. Is that true or were you just making a number? If 2.5 (whatever) runs of 12 gauge equals 1 run of 4 gauge, then I might just do 3 runs of 12 gauge. According to the american wire gauge chart the conductor diameter of 4guage is 0.2043" and 12gauge is 0.0808". 0.2043/0.0808 = 2.5284653465346534653465346534653
  16. 2.5283356495202832389327307534764 runs of 12 would equal the same core diameter as 1 run of 4guage
  17. Push the sub in with your hand, does it stick in position?
  18. You can see the "add to cart price" in the title bar before you even add it.
  19. I think he meant to replace your current 8" midrange with a smaller one and use a 8" midbass

    Very clean install, i like
  21. Email nick"at"ficaraudio.com Or recones"at"ficaraudio.com
  22. Sounds like a big batch of fi bashing and User error. Two subs went bad because of the same problem with the install not fi's fault or they would have paid for warranty return. Never ran diamond audio before so i can't say i wouldn't choose them.
  23. Uber good customer service, plus the help from the forum members is nice.
  24. That's what i was hoping for. Ferrite cleaves, so i figure it would have completely shattered the magnet if it was a physical impact.
  25. Pulled it from the enclosure and noticed it. No idea what caused it.
