Single Cab Port
Thanks you helped a lot, I just got one question. When you say this quote do you mean the height need to be taller than 7.25". No, I meant the top depth of your box. Here's what I mean: I don't remember the exact dimensions but This box was about 5'' deep at the top and 10'' deep at the bottom with a 4'' aeroport firing to the side. The 4'' aeroport has a 7.25'' outside diameter and wouldn't fit firing up in this box. This box was like 8'' deep at the top and has two 3'' aeroports firing up. 3'' aeroports have a 6.25'' outside diameter or somewhere around there.

Single Cab Port
I've faced up and to the sides in a reg cab...I liked up the best in my ranger. As for slotted or round saving space it depends. A slot port will require a longer port length but will take up less mounting surface area. For example: let's say you plan on using 2 cubes for your dual 10'' icon box. A reasonable port area would be 28sq-in. You can achieve that in many different ways, lets say you go with 4'' x 7''. This will let the top depth of your box be only 5.5'' (4'' of port that is 7'' wide + your .75'' mdf in front and back of that 4'' port). But if you were to use aeroports you would need a minimum of one 4'' aeroport which needs something like 7.25'' of surface area to mount to so your box would be a minimum of 7.25'' deep at the top. I hope that helps a little bit.

small enclosures for 12's, but have no excursion
Just go with a single 10'' ported. I've been stuffing subs behind the seats of my reg cab ranger for 5.5yrs and a single 10'' ported in the optimal box is much louder and sounds better than a few 12s in boxes that are way too small.

Anyone want reaction vids? XCONs?
That show looks like it was a blast. We won't be seeing weather like that for a while around here. Great demos, looks like the xcons are very impressive.

1 10 and a 151?
Great score but the clip was definitely 2:40 too long.

Fi BL 12 vs BL 15
bigjon...it's pretty obvious the 12'' BL gets louder than the 15'' BL at lower power. It is also more accurate and clean sounding and not as muddy. This is why you entered this thread.

I need an amp for 2 12'' DC level 4 2ohm
Do you have the electrical to support 2000w?
-
Guess what I got today;)
Awesome! You're going to love the XLs....and Rusty is the man. What was in his vehicle?

lv4xl10 vids
The seat reclines against the top of the box but doesn't come in contact with the sub.

is this amp good enough?
Are your subs dual 1 ohm? If so then it should work fine.

My first hair trick attempts.
We got the same last name. But nice vids for sure.

DC Audio Level 4 15"s
Nice job!

anyone dealt with chevy std. cabs?
That's a great idea imo. It gets too complicated squeezing bigger subs in reg cab trucks and often you get left unsatisfied. DC sound labs makes great subs...a pair of the lv2s or maybe lv3s would be great on that power. I can't say if it would be louder or not but it's just another company to look into.

2x Level 3 12"Just Ordered:)
Not sure about the lv3s but I've had my lv4xl tuned at 35 and then 40 and both have still hit the lows well.

So I'm having an issue with one of my subs
Could be an airleak in your box somewhere.

15 fi Q Vs...
I loved my BL when I had it. It sounded good in my opinion and got loud as well. I only had 1000w on it too.

dc or audioque
Hopefully I can hear your DC sub at one of the Chicago CA meets this year. Or you can swing up by Gurnee when we have another Team DOA meet at my place... I'm still mad I didn't come ask you for a demo back in September when I was at the show in montgomery or wherever that was. I'm planning a blowthrough right now so the DC won't be in there much longer. Do you have any experience with blowthroughs at all? I'm sure I can rent a palm grinder and do it myself and I have a sawzall so I'm sure I could do it but I was hoping there was someone in our area that already has some experience with it. Hit me up either here or over on ca.com

I think my lv4xl sounds pretty decent for a daily driver. Not sq by any means but it does a decent job on all music imo.

video of my truck running at a usaci show
Awesome job.

lv4xl10 vids
I think I like ports up-firing better in my truck. It's weird though, whenever I'm driving by myself it is loud as hell for a single 10'' but then whenever someone is in the passenger seat it isn't loud at all. I'm talking to a couple guys over at ca.com about designing a blowthrough though. I'm thinking a dual 12'' setup and 3000w. I'll take another video soon.

help me choose
This is going to be sealed right? I've done quite a few ported boxes in my ranger if you need some dimensions, just let me know.
