  1. you can find them much cheaper and much faster if you import from japan. i was considering this for myself (toyota mr2) until i drove my buddies fairlady twinturbo and i could`nt get over how grose right hand drive was.
  2. LMAO! I was reading the text then slowly scrolling down to the pic...
  3. i would hire 4-5 hitmen and get rid of a couple people real quick then make as many loans as possible and max out all my credit cards and go live in thailand like a king for the rest of my life.
  4. once i asked the guy at futureshop if he has a voltage meter for my soundsystem and he asked me why. when i told him i wanted to keep check on my battery voltage to make sure my volts dont dip too low he replied word for word "why do you need battery voltage for your soundsystem, once your car is started you don't need the battery anymore, everything just runs right off the alternator...trust me i know i went to mechanic school". then when i reassured him he was wrong he said "so you gonna buy the headunit or what?"...this guy thought he was so smart too, i felt like punching him in the head but instead i did the right thing and told him "wait here just a sec i gotta check something" and i found another salesman and made him do the transaction at the cash next to his to make sure that dumbass didnt make comission off my ass.
  5. i checked real quick on demonoid, piratebay and mininova and the chooped and screwed vers. is nowhere to be found.
  6. cdt components are still on special on ebay for 100$ instead of 250$(with upgraded tweets and cross-overs). some people love cdt others hate em' , it's all a matter of preference when it comes to speakers unless they are very obvious at being crap like my buddies sony xplodes.
  7. what about the aa assassin 8"?
  8. it seems like your getting ripped off considering that i paid around 1800$ for my system. you should definatly do a little research and learn how to install it yourself and build your own box. car pannels are usually either held by tiny hidden screws or snap into place and a box is pretty easy to make also. once you figure oput your box specs your just enter them into the box calculator provided on this site and it will give you the exact dimensions that the wood has to be cut. just print bring to your local hardware store and give them the dimensions and they will cut you the wood perfectly, then just put the box together like leggo. and once you see how easy it is to install yourself you can start charging others to do it for them.
  9. if you want to know for sure do you own calculations using ohms law. volts x amps = watts so say you are running 1000watts and your voltage is at 12.6 volts, your going to have about 79 1/2 amps running through that wire. 15 feet of 2 gauge wire can only handle anywhere from 65-85 amps before becomming dangerous (so already you know that shop is full of crap). no lets say somehow your voltage dropped to 11.4 volts, that means about 88 amps will be running through that wire. so basically it's better to spend an extra 20$ on wire than risk your car catching on fire or blowing your soundsystem. ps:i'm very tired so my calculations may be way off, but you get the point.
  10. i hav'nt really heard the q or any other fi sub, but my bl 15 sounds really good. it hits very accurate even when playing them really loud. the only thing that puts my sq off is that every damn panel on and in the car rattles.
  11. a good way to know for sure is to check your volts at the battery with a voltmeter, if you see your voltage is dipping too low you know that you need to further improve your cars electrical system. you can pick up a voltmeter real cheap at your local hardware store for probably around 15$.
  12. if i remember correctly the cutout of the bl 15 is 14.125 inches and the displacement is around 0.18 cubic foot.
  13. For sure man, but compared to your old setup you'll find the 2 bl's insanely loud.
  14. my initials are p p p... you can figure out the rest.
  15. haha true! that was a pretty harsh and general statement about sony there, but it did apply to what he was saying.
  16. If Fi manages to switch it back to dual 2 ohm, the new saz 1200d would be perfect to power that Q (coming out soon).
  17. Can't wait to get my hands on one of those! How much is it shipped to Canada?
  18. Haha, your writing as if 2 bl 15's is'nt big man. 2 bl 15's off that sundown will be insanely loud! I was so afraid that my single bl 15 off my sundown saz1500d was'nt going to be loud enough, but when i plugged that stuff up I was disgusted about how loud the damn thing was. If a single bl 15 is causing my vision to blur and putting pressure on my chest I could just imagine what 2 15's could do.
  19. "sony" and "car audio" should not be used in the same sentence.
  20. wow that sounded rough when i read it to myself lol.
  21. lol, true, except i love the looks of the older wrxs. the brand new ones are getting soft. mini with painted flares?? like this.... i agree, it makes a world of difference! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yup!
  22. from what i`ve read, that sub can chew up 3000rms easily. your definatly going to need another amp to strap or get a bigger amp. you can always try to build a massive box(like 7 cubic feet) and see how it sounds with the 1000rms amp.
  23. I've thought about this as well, i love the balance between sporty/classy and it doesn't look like a kid's car like the altima or the GTI The only thing is i would love to hear from some owners and get some more reliability reports. my brother in law got his new and brought it to 350 000km (around 200 000 miles) all while being chipped and it had no problems other than routine maintenance and body work because he got in a couple fender benders... as for the mini, i have nothing but good things to say about that car(my folks had one for a while. the looks are certainly not for everyone, but you would be surprised to how sporty it can look just by painting the plastic fenders to match the car color (costs around 300$).
  24. i would personally go for the gli hands down. it has a huge trunk, and it is a perfect balance of a classy/sporty car. and best of all it has a turbo so if ever you feel the need to have more power you can "chip" the car (reflash the ecu) and squueze 300hp out of that engine for about 500$ at your local speed shop. i believe you can even buy a little computer that you plug into your ecu and you can switch back and forth between stock hp and modded hp in a mtter of minutes, seeing as how your worried about mileage and want performance at the same time. edit: im totally biased towards german cars btw.
