  1. Bass boost will always cause problems reguardless. DO NOT TURN ON THE BASS BOOST. It will destroy all of your equipment. Here is some information to back that up. In order to increase by 3db, you theoretically need to double the output power of the amp. So say you have your gains set so you are producing 1000 watts rms without the bass boost and then you increase the bass boost to just 3db, the amp will try to output 2000 watts of power and thus clip like crazy and will overheat if not blow the amplifier. The only way to safely run bass boost is if you turn your gains wayyy down. But why would you want to do that? Then the only note that will be loud is 40hz. ok i got it.. thanks for clearing that up.. just started a new post on this because i didnt know if anyone would make it back to this post
  2. the kicker zx1000.1 has a 0-18db variable bass boost at 40hz.. my question is if i want to run my IDQ15s ported and tuned to 28-30hz would the bass boost hurt the sound of the subs?
  3. was just looking at the specs on my kicker zx1000.1 and it says it has 0-18db variable bass boost @ 40hz.. my question is if i wanted to put my IDQs in a low tuned(28hz) ported box would this cause problems?
  4. Read the whole post before replying, he already bought the amp. Yeah Im about to get one from db-r.com (all I need is a SAX-50.4 to complete my amps for my interior speaker setup). Good choice and have fun did u get a 50.4 ordered.. think they only had 2 left when i ordered mine
  5. The first version 125.2 started out as a 100.2, but every amplifier consistently put out 25+ watts over rated. That may not seem like much, but considering that's 1/4 rated power it's very significant. I know you bought a 50.4, that was just an example. thanks, since the 50.4 is rated 160.2 its probably 180-190
  6. how do u like the IDs? ive never heard any ID products but bought them based on reviews. got the ctx65cs and 2 IDQ15v2s
  7. just ordered a 50.4 to power some id ctx65cs comps. heard these amps do more than rated power, how much more??
  8. found the answer to my last question. went ahead and bought a 50.4. came up to $166 with a 1yr warranty. should power the ctx65cs comps pretty good
  9. The 50.4 is on sale for 150 something at db-r.com so go get on it ASAP or get something of lesser quality and crossover flexibility but it is your money and your choice they got refurbs onsale for $153. the 50.4 does 160.2 bridged correct?
  10. not wanting to spend $200. the cheaper the better but i still want quality.
  11. just seen a cadence sqa-4 a woofersect for 129.99 that would give me 200x2 bridged which is wat i was origanaly looking for .. think im gunna get it
  12. maybe ill go with 150w/dr instead of 200.. will get plenty loud for me.. doors will be fully deadened to.. have 125sqft raamaat
  13. Are you wanting the amp to be four ohms stereo at that power? Plenty of choices if you bridge an amp though. Do the speakers need that much? im looking for a 4 channel to bridge.. not sure if they need that much but the guys on the ID forum said they could handle 200w so thats what id figure id shoot for
  14. My components off 100 watts in each door will make your ears bleed, if you want loud though get some horn tweeters, and get them on 15 watts. what comps do u have? doors deadened?
  15. well i ordered the ID ctx65cs, now i need a budget friendly amp that puts out 150-200w per channel. any suggestions?
  16. any of u guys got any rock/metal songs u like to show off with?
  17. hopefully ill get all everything bought before spring so as soon as it warms up i can start installing.. atleast want to get the wiring so i can get the wiring and deadening done
  18. ive got time to get the system done, dont get my license back until august 2010.. plan on getting the wiring and deadening done when it warms up.. never heard IDQs before but the 2 15s on 1100w should get pretty loud in the blazer..
  19. plan on going with a sealed box, not sure how big yet.. probly go to Image Dynamics forum and asked them. yes $100 a piece! elecrical is stock right now, plan on doing the big 3

  21. i bought a kicker zx1000.1 about 3 yrs ago then go into some financial problems.. got them under control and am starting to piece a system together for my 02 xtreme blazer.. so far i have the zx1000.1 and yesterday i bought 2 basically new IDQ15v2 subs for $200.. also have 125sqft of raamaat.. plan o getting some ID ctx65cs and an amp to give them 150-200w/dr.. how do u think this set up will sound for rock/metal?
  22. well I haven't personally do this yet, but we are about to have one measured sealed. 15" did u get that 15" metered?
  23. ok.. just want one sub and am trying to spend as little as possible and still have good sound quality and output. Fi SSD? never heard one, of course ive never heard any of the others either.. around here i usually hear kicker, sony and audiobahn
