  1. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ download this player, it plays almost everything
  2. For what you want.. An L8 with a decent amount of wattage.
  3. I just installed my first active setup with the 9887. Just make sure the tweets are on the rear channels and the mids on the front channels, and put the switch on the bottom of the unit to "3-way". The sound is a big difference and more to my liking now, specially with time alignment. Good luck, go active
  4. I'm using Alpine's mrp-m series have had it for over two years, and I'm happy with it.

Any suggestions on a quality RTA at a reasonable price?
  9. Great to hear.... Now maybe you'll get it in without any problems!
  10. Looks good man, I'm liking that double flush mount look.
  11. damn that's a little far for me
  12. That is great to hear you like the sound. The BL's can get crazy loud with enough power and the right box. IMO the ICON looks a lot sexier!
  13. come on down sick. we are going to have some fun Where's it being held?
  14. Thanks for the input. I have to spend a good amount of time this week tuning xovers. My question still stands "I have my sub crossed at 63hz active. But my amp doesn't have a switch to turn off its crossover. Should I just turn the amp's over 63Hz and the HU will stop it at 63 anyway?"
  15. Yeah I wish I put my tweets in the pillar to bring up the sound, I would move them but there will be holes in the doors. I'm also selling the car in two years, so I don't want holes everywhere. I guess it will suffice until I get my 3-way setup in the new ride. I think rite now its the crossover, I really haven't had time to mess around with them and really get a nice tune on it. But should I use the para or the graphic eq. Still not sure.
  16. Well I understood what sqguyib was saying in laymans terms about the Q bandwidth. I have an o-scope I guess i cant use that at all for tuning besides gain settings. I guess I will have to get an RTA as well. M5 when you said there could be a couple anomalies with my install. What are some basics I could do to improve it. I'm using stock locations for mids and tweeters towards the top of my door. I know stock locations are optimal, but is some tweaks I could do. You can see it on the build section under "04 Civic Components" Also another question, I have my sub crossed at 63hz active. But my amp doesn't have a switch to turn off its crossover. Should I just turn the amp's over 63Hz and the HU will stop it at 63 anyway?
  17. Yeah I turned it on, didn't like it one bit, and thanks for the tip m5. I gotta program a the eq's to different preset buttons depending on what type of music I'm listening to. Much more work, but the sound is really a huge difference. I'm also using the graphic eq cause there are more bands. The para eq has less bands but it has Q (bandwidth) How does that actually affect the sound. I can barely hear a difference when messing with the Q. Thanks -Mike Any more tips on tuning would be appreciated!
  18. Thanks man, Do you use the MX setting or you leave it to off?
  19. When the dust clears, let's see some pics guys! And good luck to you all.
  20. enjoy your stay at SSA
  21. I checked the amp setting and I had it on option 2. But I found the problem. It was the crossover setting on the HU. Now everything is working beautifully. Just have to setup time correction today, no big deal. A quick question about the 9887. When I press the rotary knob I notice there is Sub, balance, and defeat control. But there is no treble or bass control. Is there a way to access this, or I can't now because its active?
  22. Wow this thread blew up, I'm glad I brought this up, hopefully ebay will do something about this douche
