You can cook a woofer with any amount of power if its clipping. Not if the clipped signal is within the power rating, both thermally and mechanically.

Gotta test, down firing in trucks normally is successful though.

Port area doesn't kill subs, to much airspace in the enclosure makes mechanical failure more likely though.
