    Welcome Josh
  2. Very nice bike!
  3. True Thats why I love this place...Lots of useful info. Ya know funny thing about that, back when I was installing part time my boss hired a guy that was gonna replace me, he was 26-27 and I was 17, I was diagnosing a noise problem in a vehicle, checking the grounds of course, and he was looking with me and said "Oh found it!" and held up the RCA's next to the power wire, I told him that wasn't the problem and he said it causes noise, I insisted it didn't and he got pissed and left. He came back after I regrounded the amp and the noise was gone, showed him, and that fucker had the balls to say"You moved the RCA's to the other side of the car didn't you!" I told him to prove that it causes noise. He never got back to me.
  4. It means the largest size the terminals will accommodate is 4 gauge. No I'm not familiar with the amplifier.

ugh, you make it sound like you got poon from your mom. Nah, I hung out with some girls I graduated with
  6. I guess true straight pipe would be no cats and no mufflers. So in reality its not true. I have cats but no mufflers A proper system that makes more power than what you have would sound better, make more power, and be less annoying. Trucks like yours make me laugh. An exhaust system on a car that begs for it and again helps it make power I am all fine with, but for the sake of being loud it makes no sense at all. Fucking Fast And The Furious.
  7. Welcome to SSA.
  8. To avoid any confusion in the future, midbass and subbass are two different things. Think of midbass as middle bass, as that's what it is short for; and sub bass as below bass, as that's what "sub" means.
  9. Yes they aren't designed for heave loads but my stock 90 amp works well charging my starting battery and two group 31 batteries, it's in great shape. (Knock on wood)

Wow...he's got some lungs on him! He kinda sounds like The Exorcist
  14. The Nightshade (12") has a Fs of 43 hz, and they recommend tuning between 30-40hz. And optimal tuning from Jacob was around 34hz i think, that's not really high i think. And i don't think the nightshade 12" can get as low as the HDC3 tuned to 34hz. Only basing on Fs you can't say how a subwoofer will play. (Sorry if you don't really understand it 100%, because i'm from Belgium ) EDIT: Why did i get -1 for the previous post? If i said something that isn't correct, please say so. (i think everything i said was correct.) I guarantee I'll go lower than a similar AQ setup tuned to the recommended 38 Hz. Your thinking about this the wrong way, the enclosure determined low end output in most cases. You might as well put an AQ in a prefabricated enclosure as that's around where they are tuned. They recommend tuning so high so their inefficient drivers can seem louder than they really are. I've heard many AQ setups and it takes a TON of power to make them play below tuning cause they are so damn inefficient. They recomend tuning at 38 Hz. because most people listen to music that peaks there or slightly higher. You are right in that Fs drops a few Hz. after break in and the spiders loosen up, but if they are as stiff as you claim the Fs won't drop much
  15. Hmm, I didn't know that. Good info to have. You have to keep in mind that there are good and bad build houses, the more the amplifiers cost to build obviously the better the amps will be. Amps that are cheap to manufacture are cheap to buy as a customer and of lesser quality. wow i didnt know that i thought sundown desighned them...im sure alot of peeps didnt know that.. Nevermind. Sean said it better than me.

  17. For an older RE XXX I'd consider it, but not a US Amps XXX.
  18. Maybe high tuning is recommended to make the drivers seem louder, and recommend higher tuning so they can say their woofers have such high power handling.
  19. If your worried use allthread with bolts and washers. As for sealing your enclosure just use silicone. You really like over kill don't you?
  20. Aaron's da man!
  21. Thanks Mark! That was a childish argument of that sounded like "My dick is bigger than yours!"
  22. If you want to fiberglass something do the corners.
