Tis A Great Day In The World Of Duran...
For the most part yes, I'm still working out the kinks. It will be strikingly similar to baginaltima's dual T1 15" box.

SPL S3 Vs. Nightshade
Well we compared our subs today, his 15"s are pretty hefty. He has almost no excursion capabilities due to his small spider, and I was very unimpressed with the built quality. As far as I'm concerned he bought a 15" paperweight.

I understand what you are saying, theoretically it might work like that. But I would like a technical explination of why. I'll leave that one for Scott or Nick to speak of, as I relegate myself to hang back and watch Thats why I addressed it to Nick

how does fi btl compare
The SSD is slightly superior in my opinion. It is more SPL geared than the 9500. With more motor force, and more efficiency. A loaded SSD would not totally obliterate the 9500, but be slightly superior. Comparing the 9500 and BTL is apples and oranges. The BTL is in its own class. If you're comparing the SSDs to the 9500s, and you're saying that the SSDs are slightly superior. Then how is the comparison of the 9500 to the BTL the same as apples and oranges? Are you saying that the 9500s are sound quality subs while the BTLs are spl subs? Yes, the BTL is in its own brute SPL class. While the 9500 is a high powered SQ driver that prefers sealed enclosures.

So it this a new woofer? Or will you just be adding a 22" capability to the whole line?

To my knowledge all Fi motors are the same size, 10"-18".

Nick, Will the motor be changed for the 22"? It looks too small. Also, are there any advantages to larger drivers besides cone area. Lets say, that with a 10" driver you have a certain amount of bl, and when you put the same size motor on a 22" basket and have 300 sq. in. more cone area wouldn't there be increased mechanical stress, less excursion capabilities, and much more air resistance?
