That would be why. That combined with being Hifonics. The Q didn't stand a chance...
  2. Correct my if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it only be 208 amps of draw? Plus 60 or so for the rest of you car.

3/4" will be plenty strong, and glassing that is a good idea to eliminate air leaks. No worries!
  4. That doesn't mean they are gonna be louder, maybe they are tuned really low for more low range and that most of that box is port. its kinda hard to tell over the internet. the mtx's dont dig deep How are the MTX's wired? they are SVC, so my bet is he had them wired pretty high. Parallel them. i parallel evry speaker i can get my hands on. that base is covered So you paralleled the woofers together? And bridged the amp?

  8. lol really? i though DD had the loudest? or is it just Alan and his team? 180.5dB sure is loud... but i am just comparing 200w to 1kw and i see no reason it should be louder. it just is update: put in a half farad cap, and some 4ga. the lights stopped dimming, and it definetly blows mtx to peices. maybe some vids when i find my camera charger.... I can't remember if DD's score was official or not. What amps are they? The Pioneer and the MTX amp? mtx is a pyramid power 500x2 briged @ 2ohms for max output. and my guy's amp for the pioneers is a measly Jensen 100x2 There are a lot of things that can make the pioneers louder than the MTX's, most of that is install.

  10. They are L5's, and the displacement is around 0.20 cubic feet.
  11. It depends though, right now I have 2 12" Kicker CVR's in 2.5 cubic feet with sub and port firing up into my trunk lid with my seats down. I burped a 138.7 with only 500 watts to them.

    Hola!!!!!
  14. Because your buddy is using MTX! Don't be silly! But seriously, Pioneer has one of the loudest if not loudest vehicles in the world.
  15. nice and indepth. ill be doin that to my deck tomorrow. and i also already have a relay wired to turn on fans for my sundown amp. so ill just disconnect the fans and use that to turn on the amp and see if that stops the thumping I recommend squirrel cage fans blowing across the fins. Here is an example of what I mean. Link i dont know if that would work for my case. i have a fiberglass cover over my amp rack with four holes for the fans to pull out heat and one on top to see the amp and let air in. here is wat it looks like: http://www.geocities.com/fritosaregood/audiopulse_setup.JPG They should work for your box...

you know better, so I dont consider you a part of the problem. you're good Thanks man! I actually started in this stuff a few years ago getting Kicker and Crossfire in my car. Then Watching Steve Meade's Tahoe bumpin' got me to look into Fi, and made me find this wonderful place we call SSA. Now I sell/install Kicker and Crossfire!

Awww, that's not cool guys! I guess I'm on of those sales rep's who knows about the "little" brands out there and tries to steer people clear of expensive mainstream brands.
  21. not really. there is no voltage comin out of the radio in each case Depends on the head unit. on my alpine the mute button just cuts the output to about 1/5 of what it was before the mute. Same with my Jensen
  22. X2, or you could wait for the XCON's...
  23. Thanks, it looks sweet.
