question for sundownz about motor strength
I have woofers with a BL2/Re of 592

fi BL options problem
That was an option on the old BL, now it comes as the Hyper Pole.

Fi glue, who has used it?
CA glue(Cyanoacrylate) is just the chemical name for Super glue, with an activator sprayed on separately, epoxy is resin mixed with a hardener, it really won't matter.

Stop the bickering or the whole thread goes away. Take it to PMs gentlemen. *Bickering removed*

question for sundownz about motor strength
Motor force depends more on the top plate geometry vs. the ferrite.

Box adjustment
Take a look at this calculator for port area: http://www.carstereo...icles.cfm?id=31 What is your actual goal with this setup? I'm well acquainted with Vance Dickason's port area formula, with his woofers, I would use more port area than he has planned.

Stop making "This vs. That" threads, take the time to formulate an intelligent thread. Make anymore and I will delete them.

whats better rockford fosgate or fi btl
for bass alot whats the best i can get If that is your goal, why is the T2 an option? The BTL would be a better bet.

whats better rockford fosgate or fi btl
What if he wanted a woofer that was the best at having pretty aluminum cone? I wouldn't recommend a BTL.

Road noise - need advice
I assumed thats what he was referring to... remember I have to play nice on all of these forums. Nampa to be exact. I know several people who moved to or from Ogden and Provo. I agree. I'm form Idaho Falls.

Road noise - need advice
LOL. People on SMD need deadening too. A rep in the Second Skin section has been MIA for a while and I'm sure people would appreciate having one. That and Don could use some competition. Only kidding of course... or am I? He was poking fun at the fact that most people on SMD are not intelligent enough to comprehend what sound deadening actually does, and how it is used. Where in ID are you?

Design Ideas for a Wall
Sound waves really don't leave the port, the woofer excites the air in the enclosure, which excites the air inside the port, and it's a chain reaction from there. Do it form the port opening

Subwoofer Building
Yes, as they are more compliant than hard spiders. Heavier cone and coil lead to lower Fs due to increased Mms, or moving mass. Xmech is the mechanical limit's of the motor, normally. Cms, Fs. Copper is heavier, it does not necessarily have less resistance, that is impedance determined. Flatwound coils have more surface area than a round coil, they can dissipate more heat, and have higher thermal ratings, as well as being lighter than copper. Wider gap is used for daily driving so that the coil has wiggle room in the gap, wire hitting steel at 40 cycles per second is going to do some damage. The number of layers in the coil is used to get the impedance of the coil, primarily, but also play with mass a little bit.

I agree with Sean, generally anywhere between 30-35 Hz. does just great.

You will be moving insane amounts of air as it is, but for the best results I would lower tuning as well as well as keeping port area
-
Design Ideas for a Wall
Numbers look good, if you shrunk your port area a bit you would be able to lower tuning, I'd just find a balance in port area and tuning, definitely stick with a minimum of 2802", you can play with it a lot, it will perform well regardless of what you ultimately decide to do with it.

Need Help Fixxing the Tunning on my Box
Was the last enclosure a blow through? If it wasn't, that's probably the reason for your new peak.

Subwoofer Building
Nothing that I've seen, it's best to just ask. We have many speaker builders on here.
