I had a DD3518 in 9cubes tuned to 32hz. It dug all the way to 22 hz before I would start to worry about it. Btw, this was on a saz1500D at .5ohm. After taking everything into account and given the chance I may have chosen a different subwoofer for the goals that I set but the deal was too good to pass up and the results were nothing short of amazing IMHO. Point being that just stating that a certain subwoofer is garbage when you have probally never even owned one is not cool and very misleading to some of our more inexpirenced members. This wasn't directed toward you ,Duran, in any way. Just thought I would give you a case of the red ass lol. The lower models aren't as SPL based as much, you also need to take into account you had it in 9 cubes, of course the low end will be more pronounced

This too ^^^ There are some shops that can take your factory alt and beef it up some.. I've seen some go from 70 amp to about 130. Not much but it's better than nothing. that is a possibility but i would not recommend it because when they "rewound" the alt. the actual idle is worse than original. Right. Stock alternators are made to produce the most amperage at idle.

I've been shopping for a headphone amp to throw on them, I don't have one currently; listening from my Zune or computer, you can tell there is definitely more in them, but still not lacking IMO. They were my first "real" cans so there isn't much I can compare them too, I really enjoy the open baffle, no complaints about them at all. I opted for the Prestige 225's, comfort being the main reason, as they are the cheapest Grado cans what wrap around the ear vs. just sit on top of the ea. I could only handle them for about 3 hours for the first few days, I adapted and can wear them for 8 hours no problem

I like my Grado's, the on ear took some break in, now I can wear them 24/7
