So i think the Icon may have run its course. Driving home a few weeks ago the sub just started making a weird noise. Every time the bass hits the sub kind of cuts out and makes a pretty harsh noise. So I finally had time to attempt to diagnose the problem. Took the sub out and inspected it and everything looked good though. No tinsels snapped, didnt appear to be a coil problem, and the sub moved in and out just fine(no coil rub). The sub looked practically brand new. Reinstalled the wiring and turned it back on and the problem still persists. Unfortunately, I didnt have a DMM to check the impedance on the coils so that will be next on the list. Anyone ever heard of a similar issue? Looks like Fi will be getting a call for a recone soon. This is a great excuse to finally throw the 18" Xcons in though. Shame theyre 250 miles away. Edit: This is being ran of a Sundown SAE-1000.

Guess I wasn't made aware of this problem? The 40.1's were tanks just like the 20.1's. The reason they were discontinued is so that we can go to the new slim 40.1 that we displayed at SBN. When will these be available?

Why did you guys stop making the 40.1? Also, does anyone have one for sale?

Did you put in 3 in the quantity? If you did then you just ordered 3ft of it lol. what? so they gave me 1 3 foot wire? quantity usually means the number of items. Hahahahahaha. You might want to call them. What did you expect? Like 20 feet for 3 bucks?

Umm with only 7k watts, I'd just run the two 18s.

Id say, bad idea. Liquid nitrogen would actually freeze the entire sub rather than just cool it. I have seen water cooled amplifiers though. Same idea as liquid cooling for PCs.

Checked both and the highest from mech is 250 and iraggi is a 240A. I might have to see if someone can custom build one.

The amps actually rated at 5200 watts, but I'm going to set the gain to hopefully have it much lower than that. Unfortunately, a 250 amp alt. seems to be the largest I can find and Ive checked quite a few places.

Trying to figure out what size alternator I'm going to need and how many batteries I'll need. I'm figuring at least a 250 amp alt and 2 D3100 powermasters, plus a yellow top under the hood. Will be running a Clif Designs 4800.1lx and probably a Sundown 100.2 or 125.2. Is there a way to calculate what I'll need or is this all a guessing game?

First impressions: MASSIVE.

I'm not intending to send them 2500 watts. Im thinking about running them off of a Clif Designs 4800. I was simply curious. Gains will be set low on the amp to ensure longevity. This is merely a groundpounder build to move lots of air.

My 2 18s arrive today.

Rated at 1750rms, but what could these really take? Could these handle 2500 for a few minutes?
