The amp works fine I just want to no if its normal if a amp gets hot if you are not using it...my amp plays I repeat it plays but example... Driven 7hrs no bass only mids and highs and the amp is hot....DC 5k

The amp is on but not playing music just listen to the mids and highs

So I'm going from Kansas city to Cali once I got to Denver I notice that my amp is getting hot not hot hot but a warm hot my apt is at 14.9 volt and I'm not playing it at all just listen to music but the amp is cut on

I would go to the for sell section. Here and get the DSS ethos that are for sale and save you for a sundown amp 800 is not a lot of money for a complete set up for good name brand stuff just saying

Some people can see this and use it for help...so it might be fun for me if you think so but not for other I can even learn something like different audio brands out there...plus don't you want to no how something sound before you buy it...just say but hey I'm just a newbi you can get a pretty good idea of how something sounds from proper measurement. so if you dont see those measurement advertised then its probably a shit product (aka, almost every "car audio" speaker/comp out there). id spend that 150 on shit to improve your current install, sound deadener or maybe a minidps and go active on your components if you have enough channels on your amp. My view on this he had nothing for front stage on this project..I think he would come out cheaper with a comp set for the said price..Well I order some McLaren 8" mids from dropping hz and for tweets I had a pair of plack ft1 but sold them( had a death in the family once I get that taken care of ) I will be buying more mids and tweets plus another 50 tiles form sound deadener showdown....like I said board at work and looking from site to site that all no need to jump all over somebody or think a person do not have something because a 150.00 pair of speakers I think will not keep up with the 4 18s I have just saying people remember I'm a newbi

so at the end of the day you arent running 8k to those Ethos, so why even get an 8k amp. Makes no sense for the OP to drop the extra cash just to say i have an 8k amp. Comps maybe but for daily driving i dont see it.But if you want more power down the road you have it...like I went form two 18s to 3 18s at 1.33ohms and now I have 4 so if he's planing on going with more sub's why not get the 8k but every body has there own opinions I'm just another newbi anyways...what ever you decided to do make sure you do a build log so we can follow your updates

I ran a 8k on two ethos with no problem but I made sure to only clamp 3600 out of it could got more but they loved it....
