  1. what do you meter? box specs, overall cuft, port area, tuning, cuft after displacement.
  2. if you listen to more rap why dont you get a single bl 10 loaded and run it off the saz1500 in a ported box. it will take up about the same space, cost less, and most likely get louder. you could also wait for the 10in nightshades but the bl's are more musical.
  3. what type of enclosure and music do you plan on
  4. the hk4000d not worth the money and for the price of the 2500 go to db-r.com and get a saz3000d get the d2 btl and make sure you have a good electrical system.
  5. the 15's would have a little cone advantage plus it would be cheaper.
  6. just trying to show him he could make them fit if he wanted. sometimes people forget little things that could make things work. although i dont know all the dimensions in which he has to fit the box
  7. Mainly because I want to keep my cargo cover in tact in my trailblazer. 14" is the MAX height under the holder. Therefore, 14" is my max box height. I'm sure you can see the problem in that So I decided 3 12's would be just as loud, and sound great with the various types of music I listen to. And Jysoe, that's a great question. I'd like to know the answer as well. just fire the subs up or angle the face you could have fc draw you a blueprint to fit 15's in your space.
  8. if your using them strickly for comps you wont be going by recommened box sizes you want to tune the box a couple hz under the vehicles frequency and build the box a little on the small side to increase power handling diffrent box alignments will help as well. box will not be able to play muxic though.
  9. do you need 3 subs why not 2 15's sealed. if you like the look thzats cool but you can get 2icon15's and 2 sae1000d for about the same price as the ssd's and saz1500. it would sound great but probably be louder
  10. try running the saz at 2ohm so you can still give them 1500w like the saz1500 but it will run very efficiently. and try a smaller box. thats larger than the box i just built for 2 12in type r's the box also had 72sqin of port area and was tuned to 35hz and still had more airspace then suggested. with the amp you have and 5 cu you should be running 4 at 1ohm.
  11. have you considered running a larger emclosure due to the power you will be sending them. rated at 800w and i figure they would each see a little more than 400w and with the fi recommended .8-1.6cu sealed as close to the 1.6 as you could fit would have greater output in the lows.
  12. how are you wiring the subs
  13. dbjunior replied to mwoehr's topic in Fi Products
efficency ratings are worthless in ported applications
  14. the smaller stuff is a cap just a high capacity cap
  15. depends on the batcap if its a smaller one its just that a cap but if its an 800 and up its more of a battery a guy i know uses 4 8400's resting at 17.8v and runs two 8kw amps at comps. they are decent but for the prices id rather a powermaster or kinetik
  16. dbjunior replied to mwoehr's topic in Fi Products
just because a sub is rated at 2000w doesnt mean you need 2000w you could power it with 500 if you want but with the power you have 2 12bl's or 1 15btl. the 1 btl would be cheaper an depending on box can get really loud and sound decent as far as an spl sub is concerned
  17. 3800 @ 12.3v does rated 5200 @ 17v not bad just need to do the .5ohm testing to see if you get a decent bump in power. personally id rather a 3000d for the price
  18. if your going to test with clif designs you will want to use the aftermath series its has the highest rms rating of 1800w but it only comes in a d2ohm 12 get 2 use 1 to test 1ohm then add the other and test the .5ohm the highest rated 15 is rated at 1000w and is dual 4ohm the dual 2ohm 15 is rated for 750w

all that you are pre ordering but is there anything left you are working on that wont be out then
  20. dbjunior replied to sundownz's topic in Sundown Audio
damn why do i have to be out of a job right now, damn economy. hold off on anything alse please save some great deals for spring.
  21. it would be nice to see some midbass 6.5 and 8's maybe some comps or amps
  22. i believe you also need to run a voltage step down from the alt to charge the 12v side otherwise all your electrical will see is the 12v not 14.4 like it should.
  23. if you want to use two go for it but remember you are running 5kw of power thats way more than a stock electrical can handle. i recommend a 250+amp alt and atleast 4 d3100's in the back multiple runs of 1/0 power wire and ground wire to keep voltage as high as possble. id also keep a digital voltmeter in view to mae sure you dont get to low of voltage
  24. turning down the volume. depends on install and vehicle really some trunks a little dampener and they will be fine others completly everhauling the trunk tons of dampener added gaskets to create more pressure on lid redesigning the box
  25. depends the most on the enclosure large and tuned real low
