You shouldn't shoot angels, messing with a higher power can't be good. holly chit.. that is so fudgeing funny. your the man sean. i realized i made a typo lol! but seriously i never heard a good sounding ported box thats why i been leaning towards sealed enclosures for so long most likely all prefab crap. a custom ported can be built to sound how you want. the box is the most important part of what makes a sub sound like it does and a lot of prefabs are to small and tuned high, loud but sound like crap.

i dont see any pair of 10's or single 12 playing 150's and still digging deep into the 20's and 30's. ive seen many pair of 10's and single 12 setups get loud my buddy has a set of bl 10's doing a 150 but all the ones ive ever seen near 150 have all been tuned high and wont do 20's and 30's with authority. if you want sick lows get sick lows use a xxx, just dont think you will get 150's. in the right setup i could see low 140's and still great lows with a 12 xxx tuned to high 20's and plenty of power. 140's is louder than you think and loud lows sound louder than they meter.

let me know what show id like to check out the crazy 10's.

if the leads and terminals read 4 ohm check the wire see if there is corrosion on the ends or anything that might cause more resistance the speaker wire should only read .1-.2 ohms any more and id replace the wire.

do you have any idea what the ddz pricing is? the neo magnets are a lot more exspensive than the ferrite magnets that is part of why they are more exspensive than most other subs. out of my price range but a great price for what you get.

id say 4 15 icon or dr. two on top two on bottom port in middle kinda like a clamshell

use the volume knob carefully watch your voltage and you should be ok. make sure its a digital voltmeter analogs dont work as fast to show some of the quick dips.

on that power the 3500's will be fine the 9500's will be a little louder but not really worth the extra unless you plan on putting a 3000d on each

what are your goals for the box bandpass is probably gonna be louder than ported

ive had great luck with these amps ive even run them at lower than rated imp for long periods of time and they still work and its more power than you need and cheap. ebay

does it have a vent hole on the bottom if so see if you can look into it and see something if there is try to get it out if you cant you might have to remove the dustcap ro return it for a new one.

if you are running 2k per sub i wouldnt use the Q. look into the bl or btl or change to something like the xcon if you really want to tune that low.

depends on your alt and battery specs. if you have a large battery and large stock alt you should be fine for now if you have a small stock battery and alt you will need something.

you could try subs forward port up if there is room. you might also wanna try tuning a little higher for spl numbers.

for what money you have and the output desired at .5ohm or 2ohm this is you best bang for yoour buck. opti2000d

running less than rated will never hurt a sub

lanzar opti 2k @ .5ohm just under 350 shipped on ebay. lanzar doesnt have a good rep but the opti line is decent. or up your price a little and get a kicker zx1500.1 around 1500w @ 2ohm for about 390 shipped. other than that everything else rated for close to that and in you budget is crap or only 1k worth of power.

as far as sq and spl goes they are complete opposites sq is not loud its just the perfect ballance to even out the front stage. spl is loud. you want loud with good lows for rap not ht ht is diffrent as well if you use it for movies a lot tune it real low 18-20hz if you use it mostly for music/ rap tune anywhere from 30-40hz depending on taste good lows for rap 30-34, 34-36 mix 36-40 loud personally i like 36hz for in car use ive tried others but its what i like.

unless that is sealed to the cabin id fire it toward the back or toward the passenger side and move it in 1in increments to see if it goes up or down. its all about mic time now
