just because its twice the cone area doesnt make it louder..... and would two type r's compare to 2 q's? it depends on a lot. the enclosure size, tuning, amps, wiring, car its in etc..... you dont like the answers you are getting to your questions, but you are all over the place with your questions. you need to be more specific.

good to know. lookin forward to pics and maybe a video. but yeah like rob said the 3000d's would probably kill them. unless you are movin up to btl's i would stick wit the 1500d's.

15" btl in the right enclosure would be louder than 2 15" Q's i think

cone size has nothing to do with power handling....its in the motor. each version of the btl has the same motor...which is why they all have the same power ratings. and i dont know of any CONFIRMED max wattage you can put to one of these....meade runs about 5-6k to his(i think)...and some people run only 2k. it all depends.

i agree...just get 2 12's sealed and be done with it. i dont see the need for people putting 15's and 18's in small cars unless they are competing.

i know a couple ppl in chicago that are usin icons....but other than that i dont know of any.

okay thanks guys. i know, in a way, that i did answer my own question but i was wondering where within that range should the box be tuned to for daily use.

what is the optimal tuning frequency for the icons? where do they perform best? i know the range is 27-33hz but where in that range would it be best to tune them at.

a 1000 watt amp wouldn't be powering the sub "incorrectly"....it would run fine off of 1000 watts and sound fine.

you have a bl already....why not just get another one if you want "more potential on the volume knob" two 15" bl's will satisfy you more so than the two l7's IMO.
