Well...I smoked it
Crutchfield may replace them. you burt the coating off the coils. use an ohm meter and check the coils they'll read 0 or some crazy number(in mili ohms) if it's burnt

Threw a single Massive QC 12 in today... just for testing.. (it's a sound Q woofer and digs lower) on 1500 watts the QC 12 is only .5 db down from the single DMX15 on 1500 watts (both at 1 ohm and 32 hz) heck the QC did 140ish all the way down to 20 hz (138.9 was the lowest it posted on it's trip down from 32hz) building several new boxes this week... One for me and two for buddies.. trying to get ready for the comp on the 18 and 19th

I forgot that I had to cut the amp spacers to meet a height requirement. they're only .5" part

They're not as close as they look... just under .75 between each... So far no cooling issues.. They haven't gotten warm even so I don't think it'll be an issue. I pushed them pretty good off and on at the show and didn't have any issues with the amps. the next show they'll be running 1ohm instead of 2ohm so they may get warm.. we'll see.

I'll be at both shows.. so will the my buddy and his full size blazer. we're redoing his truck a little as well.. we need to get his box tuned up higher... possibly doubling his power for the shows... probably next week I'll get mine started up. I've gotta wait for the new meter before I'll start rebuilding.. I need to figure out what sub/port orentation works the best. I'll probably get to work on putting the batteries in the bed tomorrow.. all 10 of them..

I'm gonna put the solo x 18 on ebay here shortly.. (after the truck is built) I don't want to use it for two reasons... because it won't fit in the car I'll be running for finals... (the box has to be 22 x 22 to be able to mount the woofer... the car won't fit that anywhere, I'll only be able to do 2 15 or 4 12's at the most... also the solo x needs way too much air space. the dmx's only need 2 cubes for the 15 and 1.2 cubes for the 12's.. the solo x is 5-6 cubes minimum..

Hmmm..... debating if it's gonna be or 2,3 or 4 DMX 15's or 4 DMX 12's or maybe 8 QC 12's decisions...decisions.... getting a new meter next week so testin can resume it'll be all 8 amps btw (if all 8 are needed...)...

Haven't mess with it yet... It'll be totally different next time you see it I'm gonna get on the midi fuse train... the anl's I used did much better than the multiple agu's so no more agu's for me... so the fuse holder will be getting changed out...- Rushnrun's Dodge Ram 1500 install
Got it hooked up for the show this past weekend. ended up building a box for a single 15 tuned to 28 hz (daily tuning for me) didn't post a great number due to the extremely low tuning.. Did 143.2 @34hz 143.8 @47hz......everything inbetween was right in the 143.x range... it was 143's all the way to 54hz where it started to roll off.. so atleast it's kinda flat and not peaky. On to some pics A few of the woofers... rebuilding one----(needs rebuilt again after burping 6k on it at 15hz ) Basket Old carbon fiber cone new aluminum re-cone DMX 12 by the RE Se 12 It was 102 out so I brought the gear inside to build the box Tired helper ready for resin the mess Batts wired up amp wiring amp rack done (for now) looking over- Rushnrun's Dodge Ram 1500 install
well.... had to re-do everything I did on the 22nd... changed my mind... batt box is built, starting the amp rack now... still have to get the woofers built... sub box built... waiting on 4ga to come via ups (so I can wire up the individual 1500 amp... looks like two DMX 15's and 4 P1500.1's for now... the other amps will have to wait until the next comp...- 2 18" xcon Second row wall.
4 door tl I think it was aroud 42hz, The guy told me to play like 45 and go up, but wen I went up the numbers got smaller then I went down and they got bigger, If I would have had more time I would have went lower, but whatever it gave me new goals. whats your box tuned to?? Your truck should peak in the mid to high 40hz range... It probably was getting louder lower due to a lower box tuning.. ***Which you're running a daily setup so that's perfectly fine- Rushnrun's Dodge Ram 1500 install
Well I've been sick for a week so no progress... darn summer cold... haven't felt like moving. anyhow, Comps on the 28'th so I'm running outta time. working on the battery tray and amp rack set up as we speak.. just taking a drink break. it's hot/humid as heck outside..- 4 10 Type Rs and 2 AQ 2200 @ .5...*VID*...151.4 metered
I wasn't doubting it... just curious..- 2 18" xcon Second row wall.
141?? what freq, what mic, what location..... that's a pretty low score for that equip even with stock electrical.. granted extra juice would help... 2dr or 4 dr?- 4 10 Type Rs and 2 AQ 2200 @ .5...*VID*...151.4 metered
what mic, and where?- 2 18" xcon Second row wall.
Sounds like a Plan... but..... I don't think you'll need all that to do 146 in a Jimmy.... I was doing 48's (in the mid 40hz range) in my 4 door Blazer with one Concept cpt 15 in 2.5 cubes tuned 35 hz two 4" areo's sub up ports back... running 4 ohm on a kicker zx2500.1 T/L meter head-rest drivers door open (MECA) did roughly the same number sealed on the dash but at a higher freq. blazers/jimmy's are easy to get loud on the mic.... - Rushnrun's Dodge Ram 1500 install
