  1. that they do lol
  2. Not in every case. (i.e. zx2500.1) Read again...you just named ONE amp out of all mono channel amps. What he said in this case is true. Actually indytrucks was right. The ZX2500.1 isn't stable at one ohm. It sends 2500 watts rms at 2 Ohms. for me. and the zx 2500 will handle 1 ohm daily if you have the electrical to back it.. I ran mine at 1 and .5 ohm... no issues...

painted... look through his build logs....
  4. the kicker should have one built in...
  5. I'll get a pair of good calipers and give it a measure. It's a pretty hefty motor.. I don't have a problem doing a 15 if you don't think it'll work as an 18... or you could go the other way and make a beastly 10
  6. if the subs are "bottoming out" then they are getting too much power for the box they're in (or out of phase...).. how about some box specs??? (dimensions of everything, including wood thickness ect...)
  7. I know nothing of the newer soundstream amps... My pair of OLD (I stress old) EGA1700d's were probably some of the best amps for SPL that I've ever owned. Very stout... took years of daily streetbeating and a couple years of hard competing and testing.. developed a horrible turn-off pop after I let a buddy borrow them for a competition.....?
  8. I'll dig through my "toy pile" and see what I have that may suit your needs.. they'll do good on anything around 1000watts at 2 ohm... I wonder if the amp you have may be able to handle the .5 ohm load? I've never owned/tested a US AMPS amp... maybe try your amp out at 4 ohm for starters....? You may be suprised..
  9. both the SPL amps are gonna do about half of what they say...
  10. Can't find the numbers on the clif... i think it did a solid 3500 watts all day. I got it to burp at 4400 watts or so before it blew the inline fuses and the voltage dropped down around 11v... I've sold all my clif stuff so I won't be testing them again. The AP amp uses the same board as the massive. I think the AP looks a little more generic with the build and they're rated fusing would suggest that they don't pull the current that the massive does.. The AP comes with a 200A inline fuse.. the massive is recommended for a 300A fuse... I don't think there's any way the AP could produce 3000watts RMS (I stress the RMS) on just 200A of fuse.. eventually it would fail.. the Massive pulled almost double the current of the AP's fuse rating in testing... Just food for thought and not great proof, but... wish I had one to test side by side...
  11. I tested the clif.. however, I didn't have enough batts to keep it running. it consumed tons of current.. It was popping 300A fuses on a burp (voltage drop was pretty terrible...) I'll dig up the numbers but they're not very accurate do to the voltage problems
  12. I'll be testing some of the "bigger" massive's in a couple weeks... CA100 CA200 CA50.4 then the little guys p500 p1000 and their blade amp.. I was extremely impressed with the massive.. I now use the p3000.1 in my spl car... the sundown was a little better down at .8 (it does 500 or more watts over the massive at 12v)ohm but the eff. was much lower and I need the higher eff for MECA. Love the sundown too.. the only bummer on the massive is the extreme size of it.. 3' long is a bit much.. makes it hard to fit in the civic---it's pretty narrow
  13. ^^^Price is a little high for me to buy just to test... wink wink
  14. I need one to test before I become a fan
  15. now you're getting out of you're own price range...
  16. the 3000 only has 120 amps worth of fusing.... and claims 3000w @ 12.6v.... Means it
  17. shiva wins that one... it's in a whole different class than the daytons... twice the price too...
  18. deca's are real affordable compared to the others... preform well.. couple of their group 31 intimidators would do fine..
  19. looks like an ok woofer, never heard of them.. aweful low sensitivity for a home sub... plus it's 8 ohm... so it'd see less power (on the same amp) than the 4 ohm drivers..
  20. lookin good... im with db... you should rear fire if it's not sealed off... should be louder.. pending on mic placement side fire..
  21. with the 15 the amp and box materials you should be right at the 250 range..
  22. I linked the wrong 15 the 1st time sorry... the last post has the right one..
  23. Here's your cheap Good choices for woofers... all of these are a 4 ohm load (the 12 is dual 8) I'm still a big fan of the 15.. great price.. great performance... the 15 will handle just as much power as the 2-12's.. all this looking is making me wanna build a new HT sub DVC 12 if you want to run a single... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....amp;ctab=2#Tabs the 15 that I'm still a big fan of.. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=295-470 the 18 if you wanna get crazy... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=295-475 ****I didn't notice the 12 that the other person posted is actually a component woofer and not a subwoofer... I wouldnt reccomend that woofer for your application.. not sure how it would sound (I haven't tried it so I dunno)
