  1. This is yet another build for my good friend. Seems he has to buy a new truck every year or so... What's Going in: 2 Massive Audio DB8000 Amps 8000w @ 1 ohm strapped (the two amps will be strapped and running 1.33ohm) 1 Massive Audio HD1600.4 200w x 4 @ 2 ohm 1 Soundstream Ref Comp set 6.5" (something used I had sitting around that he liked) 3 Rival Mobile Electronics A12.22 4" VC D2 ohm 2000w RMS 2 Shruiken BT120's JVC Deck--nothing fancy 1/0 everywhere... big 3 ect... all tsunami cables **not sure on the rear speakers yet... they're not all that important... he's got some old soundstream 6x9's that we'll probably stuff in there..
  2. That's what I'm talking about! We haven't done an overhaul quite that serious but I'd be curious. Boats are so much fun. They aren't your everyday install and they usually just ROCK! What kind of speakers were they? When money isn't an option, we usually will do JL Audio 7.7" speakers. Those things are great for boats This isn't a "money isn't an option" install.. biggest bang for the buck install (kindof... ) running 4 Massive Audio QC12's, 2 Massive Audio P3000.1's, 2 Massive Audio P800.4's, 8 Massive audio TX6 Coaxial Speakers (a pretty good mid), running 2 Shruiken BT120's and 6 group 31 interstate batteries... there's a 40farad cap in there too but it was just used for wire distribution and the volt meter
  3. WinISD only calculates square ports not slot ports.. they're different.
  4. eh...guess I'll have to post my big boat install... guys got 8batts, 300' 0 gauge, 6000w on subs, 4 12's and 8 6.5's running on 100w each.. thing rocks..
  5. eh... after I get mine secured to the windshield the shaft breaks in two... losing battle... lol
  6. deadening doesn't equal a higher spl score... sometimes yes sometimes no... you have to test.. I lost 1.7 db in my jeep by deadening the hatch/cargo area... Sundown (jacob) did some extensive testing an found where he gained db and where he lost by adding deadener...
  7. I have the visonik counterpart... (same amp) I barely got 2600/2800watts on a very good electrical.. the amps really need to be ran at 17 volts to do their thing. **the amp was roughly 60%efficient where my massive audio and sundown amps were 80ish%
  8. uhh... I'm trying to get teh truck back together....
  9. not too bad for a non-walled mini-van btw
  10. what about a legal score?
  11. yeah... you better find the actual peak freq before rebuilding... don't tune at the peak exactly... normally a little under.. I wouldn't expect a 150..... not in a trunk car... not without some knowledge of the sport. 147 range is more feisable and yeah... you've got way too little port... you should use ATLEAST 60in^2
  12. Legal or? where's the mic at? just curious.. box looks great
  13. I'm never happy with my scores... if I was then I wouldn't be a very good competitor.. on the head to the dash... I like the dash because it's easier (testing and whatnot)... however I do like the low notes it takes to post a big number at the head.. **I compete in MECA
  14. I'll be at that one... I better not be sick again.... don't know what I'll bring... Jeep is getting the single 12 this week and 8 k.....
  15. yep... lower notes ftw... my 28hz box w/ 120 in^2 port does hair tricks all day in my ram.. 2-15's 6k.... it'll still do tricks on just 1500w...
  16. I do 150+ at 25hz with just two 15's (MECA).... granted I've got some juice going to them... I'm sure I could get the x-cons to do the same number...
  17. ahh.. shipping claims... I ship out subs all the time. I've only had one damaged in shipping (UPS) now on the receiving end it's a different story... I've seen the fedex guy actually kick my subs off his truck before (eight 10's broke two)... And I like the guy personally... UPS has thrown my woofers in a mud hole in a rain storm when I have and enclosed porch--nightshade 12's. fedex has left the package at the end of the drive--right on the curb--this isn't a gated community fedex has also left the package at the wrong address and got it signed for... took days to find it.. they had no Idea where it was... I literally drove to every place on the street till I found it.. (four solo x 10's btw..) **If you do enough online transactions you're bound to have a shipping horror story..
  18. Shiz, I think everyone assumes that the amp was playing while he disconnected the ground
  19. nice saw..... makes me want some new toys....

  22. I heard that there will possibly be a couple event in Danville this year.. I might see you there is they do have one. Galesburg here... the danville events were decent last season... (MECA)
  23. where was the mic?
  24. nobody's gonna carpet the inside of the box.... not that I'm aware of.. normally if you're putting neons in a box you want the inside painted white.
