  1. That was completely the opposite of what I experienced. Every pioneer i've ever had was noisy as all hell. Don't get me started on the Pico-Fuse problem...

Since the amp has a button called true mono, i wouldn't bridged the amplifier. What this button does is turn the entire amplifier into a mono block amplifier. Now to does this all you have to do is wire your sub to 4 ohm and on the amplifier press down the true mono button. (press the button before you turn on the vehicle, if you don't you will not be able to push the button while the vehicleis running.) When you wire the sub to the amp you only put the wires in the left channel. The right channel should have no wires in it. Also you would only need to have 1 rca end plug into the left channel, but it won't hurt to have both rcas connected though. Which would be better cause then you won't have an rca end hanging there that could cause interfence. In this mode the amp would put out 240watts. PS. If you ever want to sell it let me know cause i love these esx amplifiers. ok heres another question,,,the amp does 240 watts bridged at 4 ohms and 230 watts bridged/true mono at 1 ohm...............so i would have to wire my sub for 1 ohm for true mono,,,or just leave it at 4ohm and just select the bridged button on the amp? Im sorry i quickly read my book before i posted and i messed up about the 4ohm load. If you use the 4ohm load you select the sync bridging button, and if you want to use a 1ohm load then you use the true mono button. But using the 4ohm load you will have less stress on the amplifier. am i safe using 8 gauge power wire for this amp? If the run is short, 8 guage should be ok. By short, I mean less than 12 feet of wire. Otherwise, I would step up to 4 guage just to be safe.
  3. The Eros VIII was the one that was stable to 2ohm bridged. http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Hifonics_Eros_VIII/
  4. Zed himself says the Burr brown difference is very minor. This is why it was an option with these amps, and not standard. Zed was not sure it was worth the $50 or so extra, so he made it optional for those who wanted the very best.

I have one (It's for sale btw). Mine is the shockwave A5000+, so hopefully it's the same. My camera is dead, and my cell takes chitty pics, so I'll try to get you a pic as soon as it's up and running.
  6. I'd love to see how he could better a USA series amp...
  7. My USA series Zed's. The grey ones are about to be for sale. The chrome ones i'm on the fence about. The Cadence A5000+ and Earthquakes (not zeds) are about to be for sale too.

Looks like some updates on www.zedaudiocorp.com 6 channel can be 2 way active and sub, all in one amp. 150x6 as previously discussed. and then a 250x2 or 1000x1 amp.

I was going to suggest filling the walls with sand, but I think the weight and teardown aspect would make this too much of a mess.
  10. Sounds like someone wants to try to Trump me on the Zed's... keep in mind, that pic isn't all of them. Some are installed in my car's, and a bunch are still in the closet.

150x6? I'll be buying one of those...
  12. I've seen pics like this of other brands being collected... anyone have some Zed pic's to share?
  13. The broader audience wants either 150x4 or a 75x2+200x2 staggard.
  14. What else can you tell me about the 12" SQ woofer prototype? I'm interested.

Being that the Draconia was $370 and 70x4, i'd guess that a 100x4 amp wouldn't be more than $500, possibly less. Definately take Denim's advice and don't jump to conclusions. Avoid:

I would definately be down for a 4x100 amp by Zed. I currently own a bunch of ESX's that I love, a bunch of Zed Branded amps (3 Deuce's, and 2 Gladius'), a bunch of USA series US acoustics, a cadence zed amp, even a couple old Hifonics VII and VIII. I'd be first on line to order the 4 channel. The only thing I could want more would be a big 5 channel, possibly with staggard outputs. Something like 75x2+150x2+500x1 with the ability to go active fronts and a sub, or power a passive Front/rear/sub setup. At any rate, i'm all about Zed's amps. You'll have to pry my ESX's and Zed branded amps from my cold dead fingers.
  17. Window shop mine! I have 3. BUY ONE! I wish. Damn, now I found it. He sold a Q275.2 too. Damnit! I wanted that amp to run my midbass. Oh well, I just picked up another Deuce, and a Q275.1, and I have a shot at a Q120.4 with a SS BLT4. Hopefully I can come up with funds for that one.
  18. Yup, i'm definately a SS/Zed/PPI/Orion/Xtant fanatic. I'm still using my ESX's currently, and about to expand.
  19. Window shop mine! I have 3. BUY ONE!
  20. Sorry to doubt you, but why can't I find this on ebay? I see no record of an ESX amp being sold. I didn't know mike ever came across these at audio clinic. Nice amp anyway. I love my esx's.
  21. I have some for sale in a thread on DIYMA under the same S/N.
  22. People don't beleive in buying things for the long haul anymore, cheap disposable goods are the name of the game now. Maybe pictured, but that's not all of them. lol... I'll get a pic with the zed's, amples, xtants, esx's. That's not all of them. I have an addiction, but i'm selling a bunch of them.
  23. I'll get a pic of all the zed's together once the Deuce Shows up...
