Git er done! The NSv-1 was around $700 retail irmc! Yes it is worth reconing!
I would recommend either the new NeoPro 6.5" that are coming out or going with the NeoPro 8" from Sundown. They were designed to be ran as a midbass in door applications.
Now I have no ZCON but the two local audio dealers here love my DCON 10" and are amazed at how great it sounds and the output it has for a low wattage sub woofer. I can see ZCONS in my future.
Those are optimum enclosure sizes. You can go bigger just need to account for port tuning etc. Welcome ....
Check this Fi link for a cut sheet for the BL Series. May or may not work for your vehicle but it will give you an idea.
It still has to go through the frame and if cable is plentiful I'd rather see a run of negative too. See hardcore Street A and B cars...they all have both ground and positive ran directly... I have my truck done with 1 run each of + and - to the front battery.

With that kind of power the Fi - SSD 10" would be a great choice. The Sundown SA-10 is another option.
What kind of power are you planning on running to the sub?
Lot's of choices from the vendors here on SSA. SSA - DCON, ICON Fi - Q AA - Havoc IA - Flatlyne
Quality over quantity all day imo! It would help if you defined your goals!
