  1. My lab has another 2 weeks of having his bottom jaw wired and pinned after running into the UPS truck! Broke his bottom jaw right down the middle after he got caught between the tire and fender.
  2. If it were me I would try the "Q"'s in a ported enclosure. I think you will be surprised at the increased output. Not designed to be a spl or high output driver, but by putting it in a ported enclosure you will see another side to this great woofer. Just my .02!
  3. Will lose a little on the low end extension as the woofer will roll off quicker in an undersized enclosure.
  4. X2 on going with the TC Sounds/Audiopulse driver.
  5. What are some of the unkown brands you have available to you that we don't have here in the North America?
  6. The L7 is a very capable driver when loaded into the right enclosure. I know they can get loud and low from hearing them in person. JBL and Orion have never heard so not much help. The Type R is an ok driver as well but I think the L7 will be better for what you are looking for.
  7. What is available in your area? We might be able to recommend something. Never heard the JBL WGTI. I have a 10" DCON and that is amazing. ICON and XCON would be !
  8. Definitley going to be louder by going ported and going to the BL's will be even louder.
  9. Last I heard is that they are still in the prototype stage.
  10. Nice flex!
  11. Bromo said it best! Pencil and paper and read this book .... Loudspeaker Design Cookbook - 7th Edition a great read.
  12. Some very good information provided above. Follow the recommendations and you and your amp will be happier.
  13. Been through Montivideo many times on my way to the Twin Cities. You ever plan on coming to Watertown hit me up with a PM.
  14. Looks to be a TC Sounds based driver! As for name I have no clue... Looks to be well built!
  15. Upgraded casing and components inside and the ability to strap.
  16. That is total length and does not account for the bend. Remember to keep the port at least 3.5" minimum away from the back wall.
  17. Definitely make sure to not overdrive the signal to the amplifier. Be conservative with the gains. Otherwise you should be ok. Fi has been backed up with back orders. Give them time, they will get back to you asap.
  18. TC Sounds = OEM Buildhouse and direct to consumer sales (Bankrupt). Working on a return from bankruptcy with offshore manufacturing. Audiopulse = Same as TC Sounds but went to a dealer network (Part of the now bankrupt TC Sounds) SoundSplinter = Still around and working on new products and new buildhouse. TC Sounds built for Soundsplinter in the past.
  19. Why not try a ported design? If that doesn't satisfy you then upgrade to another SE 10" or look at upgrading to a biger size.
  20. First off congrats on the purchase! I would look into the SAZ-1000D if you are ever planning on strapping and increasing your power. SAE-1000D have been discontinued unless your looking at buying used. Take a look at this box tuning calc to determine how accurate the RE program is. I have heard from to many people that it is off and doesn't account for subwoofer displacement. PORT Size Calculations and Formulas for WOOFER and Subwoofer BOXES
  21. Take a look at the box designs under the XCON banner at the SSA Store. That box should work fine. The XCON will be a monster in a ported box!
  22. fancy pants...
