  1. Strap your amps to 2 ohm!
  2. What ohm are your voice coils?
  3. Nice start to a great build! Keep the pics coming! I would look to get a router and round all edges on your new box, especially in the port. I see you sealed off your power wire with caulk sealent, I would look at something like this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=263-636 better to be safe than sorry!
  4. Plan a day searching Car Audio shops and go listen. Hopefully you are able to find some that have demo cars set up as well.
  5. Only way your going to abuse the sub is by "clipping" your amplifier by inadequate "electrical" and not setting your gains correctly. Definitely look at doing 2 runs of 1/0 power and ground if your going to be running that much power. The 300 amp alt will help but your going to be needing more than 1 extra battery.
  6. Doh!
  7. Welcome .... I would advise reading the two links below. It will help you get your answers and will let us help you as well. Also the search function here is a great resource learn to use it.
  8. Definitely look into the BP option as well.
  9. Check Parts Express! Worse case scenario would be to buy it direct from Rockford Fosgate.
  10. Out of the 3 amps you listed, I would go with the AQ. But personally I think the better choice would be the new Sundown Audio SAE-1200D v.2. It is on pre-sale in the Sundown section of this forum. Check it out!
  11. Look at the bottom of the amp, sometimes companies will put wiring configurations on a sticker on the bottom of the amp. If all else fails get a hold of Alpine Tech Support or go on there website and see if you can find the owners manual.
  12. If you listen to modern music as in current hip hop and rap, you will not need it and are asking for trouble if you do install it. Impious' description should answer as to why not to install it if your listening habits are mostly rap and hip hop. If it's free take it and sell it!
  13. okay so that means when i buy my wire and fuseblock that i pick the 150 amps one right? im thinking of buying the knukonceptz 1/0 amplifier instalation kit. sorry im not that good with these things but i know yall are Yes go with the 150 amp fuse, but if you plan upgrading in the near future you may want to up that fuse rating to something bigger. Amp is fused at the amp.
  14. First off complete the "Big 3". Your voltage will thank you! 2nd I would look at getting someone to set your gains with an oscilloscope. That will help prevent any clipping as long as your smart with your HU settings. The 1400 would be a good start for a battery up front, but you will want to add a HO alt and more batteries for a Sundown SAZ-3500D. If you can provide the dimensions of your exisiting box with port width and length someone will be able to tell you exactly how much space you have along with tuning.
  15. Overpriced boat anchor!
  16. And 1/3 of the price of DD! Nice looking woofer!
  17. I would suggest getting the dual 2ohm version and wiring it to 1 ohm or 4 ohm.
  18. It's a very good amp for that Subwoofer! Especially for the price on pre-sale! Any goals your trying to achieve with this set up?

    Congrats!
  20. Nice progress! Amp looks great!
  21. Looking good!
  22. Another option you may want to look at is the Sundown SAE-1200 v.2! A very underrated amplifier that will do rated and then some. On sale now for $280 shipped!
