  1. what are double baffles, kerfed ports, etc ? what would you suggest I do with the box? Take a look at Custom Fabricators (Pound That Sound, Audible Customs and Fisher Customs). They custom build enclosures and you can see the great work they do and also what a double baffle and Kerf Port look like.
  2. The SSD is a great subwoofer. A friend of mine has an 18" with flatwound coil and BP option and it sounds great and is loud. He is running it off an older Mmats DHC1400.2.
  3. The Fi SSD imo is a very underrated subwoofer! It will get loud in the right box! Make sure your amp gain is correctly set and don't over drive the input signal to the amp eg. (Bass Boost, Loudness).
  4. There custom built to order speakers. I would think they are assembled one at a time due to all available options.
  5. I would interpret that as per woofer. Not sure though
  6. The SA-12 is a monster! Set up the SAZ-2000D correctly and not overdrive the signal and you should be good to go!
  7. Type of vehicle can play a lot into what your looking for!
  8. I haven't heard an audible difference between the two. Depending on the design it's a 50/50 on preference. Advantage of Slot Port is you get the advatage of internal bracing but the enclosure will be bigger. Round Ports like the Aero Port you can mount on the outside of the box and gain more internal enclosure volume. I prefer slot vents.
  9. Slotted just means a slot (square) vent using 1 wall of your box. Ported is either a round or slot port.
  10. Very nice! Too bad about the older US Amps!
  11. You may want to jump up to the BL line for that kind of power. For the SSD - I would get the flatwound coil upgrade Here is the link for the SSD and options....
  12. Awesome news Chop! Glad he's home and safe!
  13. I would recommend Don and his products at http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi. He has done the research and testing to give the best option when it comes to deadening. I have bought and installed the CLD Tiles and Butyl Rope and the results were great. Plus the service is top notch as are the products.
  14. Happy B-Day! Oh how I wish I could remember my 21st b-day!
  15. Do you own the Q's? BL's might be a better choice for that amplifier.
  16. The dual 2 ohm BTL wired in parallel will work perfect for 1 amp!
  17. Nice numbers!
  18. Where is the Gopher defense? C'mon Brewster!
  19. 12-10 gauge should be more than enough. You can use your extra power cable, might have to trim off a little if it doesn't fit.
  20. I'm not sure I can come up with the words that can describe at how awesome this install is! Absolutely amazing!
  21. If you truly "enjoy SQ more than SPL" then you should spend at least $5000 of the $6k on your front stage. Although I doubt that is truly your goal. I would like to hear that front stage.
  22. So then what would I do to ensure the very edges are sealed.. just thought of that. Use the clamps and a lil more glue in the corners? And sounds like a fool proof plan to me. Glue and clamps! Once the glue sets it isn't going anywhere!
  23. D3100 would be a better battery for your setup!
