That is a great idea especially if you have some copper tubing laying around! I like to use the cooper tinned marine terminals myself. A heavier duty ring terminal compared to what is marketed for car audio.

Welcome .... No experience with Diamond but I do have a DCON 10" and in a ported enclosure it is an amazing driver for the price. If you can squeeze the room for a ported enclosure I would go with the pair of DCON 12".

Really what does Sundown and other amp brands have to do with the release of the new Crescendo amplifiers? I'm sure everyone can go and describe problems with every brand out there. It comes down to install and knowing what your doing. The most notorious failures I have seen over the last couple years have come from AQ amps.

I know what you mean, after seeing you re-build that DD amp, you were the first person I thought of after dB-r turned me down. As far as being built in the EU, it says on the box it self.
Double check the wires on the sub. Sounds like either it's out of phase or 1 coil isn't working.
Build a higher tuned enclosure for the Q. Should yield more SPL out of what you already have.
Generally walls will have the port firing on the drivers side here in the States. If your in Ireland that might be passenger side. B or C pillar wall?
If you have a sander or evern a file you could use that to somewhat even things out more. If not you could use a mixture of wood glue and saw dust to creat a bondo type filler.
