Is that so? Yea I guess I am using that subwoofer mindset. And i never really was interested in trying out something different on my mids because one, I gotta buy a few to replace the stock speakers. So if i didn’t like it I’d have to re buy the same speakers in the 4ohm load lol. I also wanted to maximize the rms rating of the speaker. So I figure 2 speakers at 125 each would be more louder than 4 at 62.5.

Well I was wanted to wire down to 2ohms to get the most out the amp. And I didn’t wanna buy more speakers to get the ohm load I was wanting. Shipping to Hawaii sucks lol. But idk I haven’t been around the block as much as some of the people here so I’m in that boat of wiring low to get the most out the amp

Hey guys manzkea back at it again! Lol. Finally got some equipment in. Excited to finally get this project I’ve had in mind for a while rolling . Gonna attempt a blow through in my single cab 2001 ford ranger long bed. Gonna make pods for the doors to house the 6.5s and replace the stock one with a 6.5 or if possible an 8” driver. All powered off the ssa ic150.4. As for subs I’ll be using a 15” sp4 v2 I got from a friend for a deal. A taramps 5k will be used to push it. Unfortunately the evil mids I wanted was unavailable in 4ohms. So I went with these prvs. Well I’ll I’ll be updating this as I get it going. Possibly next week or so, really busy with work at the moment. Well here’s a pic of some goodies the mail man dropped off. Cheee. Btw got something extra special in those two ssa looking boxes behind the ranger gear. But that’s on the back burner at the moment.

I like em. I used em in three vehicles so far for Sounds and i enjoy it. All vehicles had one up front and one in the rear. I went with these because I’ve read optima wasn’t all that. I used to run optimal prior then started getting more into Sounds and saw on forums people saying it’s overrated or whatever’s.

What if I was to make it like yours. How the sub is facing the plexiglass glass. And I make it a little tunnel into the cut out? I guess that’s like a 6th order idk. Would that little tunnel make a drastic difference ? And whats eats your projection on the out out of the box? What kind of ratio did you design it around

It’ll be sealed. Just saying thought there could be some cancellation due to the sub and port being larger than I could cut the hole.

Yea I’ve never done a band pass Box before so I wanted to keep it ported. But will there be cancellation ? Because I’ll try to make the hole big but it wont be as big as the sub or port. Like a trunk wall. It’ll just be an opening with with part of the sub and port being blocked.

How do you feel about that ? I’m wanted to do a full cut out to make a regular ported Box. But the 4th order seems more effective since it’s a direct shot of out put into the cab.

A second battery will help with dimming. That’s a lot of power coming off a stock electrical.

Thought would be louder. I guess 143 is pretty loud. 150 must be crazy. Eventually I’ll be adding a third 12 and upgrading to the hd 15k

So they cut off the factory harness and tied into the wires directly ? And what do you mean fancy the harness back together? You have the factory female end?
