Alpine's 2008 Lineup Exclusive
Finally the Type X pro's came out, ive been waiting forever for those stupid things. Ive wanted to try them ever since I saw them at CES 07 I see they added a 5ch PDX, which is very nice. Bumped up the power on the V line to 2kw. Taking full advantage of the growing population of iPod users. While I dont like the iPod only h/u's people will be quite pleased they can buy a less expensive version. P.S Imprint is great and all, but alpine pulled a quick one and made you buy the software and mic to take full advantage of it. Not cool IMO.

Processor dilemma(360.2 vs h701)
360.2= larger EQ, OEM integrated, smaller, cheaper. No, it does not need a PDA. You can use it on windows. H701= Less eq, non oem integrated, Optical, 5.1 surround or 4 way active. Needs C701 to work with it unless you have an h701 ready h/u. Much more costly item and IMO, harder to use. Personally id rather have the 360.2 over the 701. The 701 has its place, but its a PITA to use. The 4 way is a nice treat, but not everyone needs or uses 4 way. 701 combo will set you back well over $500 360.2, can snag one for under $400 on ebay

Sundown/Critical Mass Stereo System
Anyone realize that the enclosure is actually only 4" tall and takes up all the cargo area ? You can see the poorly carpeted port right at the front. Someone was smoking crack when they thought that one up..

Remote Start
All the rage ive heard was from the pro models....go figure

Remote Start
Not using, but worked with enough installers here in vancouver to know that anything besides compustar is not worth it. The features alone pretty much makes them worth it, never mind the crazy range. Plenty shops around here sell them, as well as visions and i think future shop. Gotta love certified warranties

200 amp HO Alternator settup
Supa........ooooooooh sweet one title thingy those batteries are badazzzhale 1 Any place to get them cheaper? 2 Do I still need a 12 volt alt if I get a stepdown? 3 Can I run just 1 of those batteries on a Sundown SAZ-3000d w/ only a 2-300 amp 12 volt alt installed. 4 Is there another way of charging the 16 volt battery? 5 Can I somehow get away with running 1 alternator or if I have to run 2 can I run the stock alt as the 12volt if only running 2 100.4s with 1 extra 12volt battery. (Yellow Top for now) Answers to any questions are appreciated. Thanks in advance ~J 1. Ask someone who can get competitor pricing. I don't know anyone off hand 2. You will only need a 16V alternator. No step down needed since the battery already has a 12V terminal. 3. See post 2 and yes, you can run the sundown off of 1 battery. 4. The only other way is to get a 16V battery charger or an alternator. 5. If you wanted, you could run the 16V battery's 12V terminal to another 12V battery, wether it be a yellow top or not. Its going to be a lot of batteries, but you can save weight by using a smaller size since the real power hogs are the subwoofer amps and those would be running off of 16V. If you need a diagram I can make one to simplify it all of you arent fully understanding.

Stand by for the final build on the SRT-4
Ive always liked the look of the MB Quart RWE series. Comes in a dual 2 or 4 as well. Possible runner up to the others listed, plus its under $100 Ex: http://cgi.ebay.com/MB-QUART-RWE-302-12-10...9QQcmdZViewItem

200 amp HO Alternator settup
If you want to run a 16V system the easiest way is to pick up a kinetik 12/16V battery and a 16V alternator. Then if you need more current you can just buy more 16V batteries. The 12V post goes to the voltage sensitive items like the computer, gauges, h/u and what not. While the 16V post powers your amps and starter if you choose. http://www.kinetikaudio.com/hc16v.asp If you look at the battery you can see the 12V post with the yellow ring around it. P.S Remember that the higher voltage you go, the less current your load will draw. The less current you draw, the less batteries you need for extra capacity. All in all, you save some coin and weight by not needing extra batteries.
