I wanna get loud...but i wanna sound good
Because most of the "grunt work" is handled by your midbasses. The sub is simply there to round things out below 40Hz where the mids simply run out of mechanical travel. Ideally, you wouldn't be able to even tell that there's a sub present, but if you turned it off they'd be something "missing" from the sound. Sounds weird to describe, but in person it's very obvious. Go see post #47 if you want to see what I was replying to...he asks the questions, I answer 'em, I don't know what his state of mind was, nor do I care to know

Not very surprising.

New Sub in the Works
I don't know, I still think the Aura NS/MR series give the Mags some serious competition Not comparable in price or customer service, though...

Welcome to the IHoP
Eh, just have some errands to do...get tickets for a class thing next week, get my student ID reactivated, grab some dinner... And of course everything I need is in opposite corners of campus. One of those Segway things might be useful

Amazon's not helping either. Argh.

Welcome to the IHoP
Ack, I might actually have to buy CD's again...Oink's great but for some things they just aren't there...

Assassins/Arsenals vs DD 1500
If you're just making loud farting noises, I'd go with the Deeduhs.
-
what size sub is optimal
The size of the sub is the least of your concerns, it certainly by itself won't make any difference how "quick" it sounds.

which amp
If it was a KX the choice would be harder.

I wanna get loud...but i wanna sound good
No... I'd go with the IXL if you had the budget, the MJ if you don't. For true SQ it probably won't matter much anyway, to be honest.

No need for another exact same thread.

new mids/highs in the miniwhip
I don't see the reason for ghettofying the crossovers though.

new mids/highs in the miniwhip
Well, at least you're reducing the clusterfuck... Maybe next time you'll actually do something normal
-
In a bit of a pickle...maybe?
It's a problem with an enclosure tuned that high. Harrison Labs makes inline subsonic filters that you plug into the amp interconnects, PE sells them.

Over powering subs? (Q Series)
It's a lot easier to say that you can't kill a speaker by underpowering. Because you can't. Ever. Unless there's a mechanical or QC issue. Clipping that leads to thermal damage is overpowering, period...doesn't matter if the user didn't intend for that or not.

how tune my subsonic filter with my BTL 15?
There's going to be a impedance spike near tuning, unless you have a clamp meter I'd be very careful with this...
-
btl 18'' fully loaded problem
Have you done anything to set things up properly?

I wanna get loud...but i wanna sound good
Not exactly a fair comparison...

I wish I had the space too Saltwater > lake Very few things better in life than casting past the breaking waves with the sun rising over the ocean. Well, until a big ass wave comes and soaks you.

"Q" , SQ loud ??
Why ported, just curious? Nothing that says subs have to be part of the equation now either

Welcome to the IHoP
Pfft, check out the prices for Lowthers Not too many $1k-plus 6.5's out there with a millimeter and a half of linear travel...

Welcome to the IHoP
I have plans for speakers that use their $300 ones, I think they have a $500 midbass out there as well but it's not as good for semi-full range. Scanspeak rr's are $450 apiece IIRC.

Welcome to the IHoP
Since you didn't mention a budget, I'm going to say Audio Technology C-Quenze's and SS ring radiators.
