what amp??
Sure, an older USAmps might be a good choice. Personally, I don't think you need a budget that high unless you're restricting yourself to brand new equipment and want to leave room to upgrade.

what amp??
I'd see if you could find a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2, used...should be able to find one for under $200. Does around 500W @ 4 ohms, bridged.

JL audio
I don't know, judging by the prices on Ebay, they aren't that overpriced, IMO. W6v2's for $300ish seems reasonable, considering their performance. They might have less value than other brands, but how are those amps working for ya?

Home Entertainment Show 2007 Pics
I remember the pics Elias posted a while back, Thilo had a nice pair of 300B triode monoblocks at the time. Didn't say what kind of speakers they were being used with though...

Active setup
I had a 7894 before I bought the 9835...it's a great unit if you plan to run outboard processing, but what it comes with internally is lacking.

2 Mj 18 in a Bass Reflex box for DJing
Once you get something in-room, software models get pretty useless.

SSA ICON 12" PRODUCTION IMAGES
Cosmetics remind me a lot of the Adire DPL12 Looking forward to hearing one, someday. Send one to VA for a weekend of testing?

2 Mj 18 in a Bass Reflex box for DJing
Should work well...although most large sub cabinets used like that are horn loaded. More phase issues that way than with a bass reflex, but the gains in efficiency are worth it for DJ'ing. A Mach 5 18 in a Jensen Imperial Horn-style enclosure would destroy things

Welcome to the IHoP
I have some "spare" monoblocks...but they don't become 'spare' unless someone gives me $1k for 'em...

Are there any car audio magazines?
Momentum was the only one worth a chit. The glossy ones are just for looks.

Welcome to the IHoP
We'll probably go back up over a million next week

Going shopping friday...need some input.
I'd be stuck between Options 3 and 4...hard decision, both are excellent midbasses.

BL and L7
In the proper hands, the L7 is not that bad of a woofer... As far as your original question goes, it's going to depend on the install. Completely.

Welcome to the IHoP
Still too damn expensive for what they are.

Welcome to the IHoP
Those Mac monos are nice, BTW Actually pretty cheap...usually those go for double that.

RL-p15 and QSC RMX1450
Ideally, there shouldn't be a difference.

I wish I got 20mpg... More like 12-13.

DEH-P880PRS
IIRC, Ramos' never was completely fixed. Matt's was horrendous, was a shame too because it seemed to have nice features and a great crossover section. If you're looking for a burp deck, I hear a lot about Panasonics being very skip resistant. Crap for features, but what do you need for an SPL deck anyway?

Subwoofer Decision
Hell, you might as well go with more drivers with that kind of airspace, would be a waste not to.

question
Answer. Depends on how thickly it's applied. If multiple coats are used, sure. Liquid definitely has advantages and drawbacks compared to mat. If you have irregular surfaces to cover, liquids can be a lifesaver...but they require drying time that mats don't. Both require excellent surface prep.

Which setup would you pick?
Considering you listed your music choices, I didn't consider SQ as part of the equation here...might as well go for the woofer with a more peaky response, and have the most cone area possible.
-
Active setup
An EQ and an active crossover are two very different things...the former being used to change the levels of frequencies in the passband, and the latter used for dividing a signal into different frequency ranges.

Spl on a budget
I helped a friend in HS with an Audiobahn AWT12X, followed the recommended plans and it worked good enough as a starting point. If you're halfway serious about competing you'll likely go through those subs anyway
