Welcome to the IHoP
Ipods Actually, if they made a 200GB Touch I could see myself getting that...or, why not just put the functionality of a Squeezebox on a touchscreen phone so I could control the music server, using something I'll already have and be able to use for more than just music...

My Future Set-up (I Hope)
Not really a fan of the coaxials. Also, I'd include sound deadening in the budget somewhere

Tampa Florida
You're thinking of a different Ramos It's hard to make direct comparisons between organizations, a little sense of modesty wouldn't hurt anyone I think The SPL guys do enough chest-thumping, wouldn't you say?

Welcome to the IHoP
How cheap is cheap ? Considering if I ever buy I'll make a trip to Germany to get one... With the weather now, I don't think I'm going to be riding anything on 2 wheels too soon Most seem to be around $1000-1600. I saw a R50/2 parked by the Drillfield today, wasn't in perfect condition but it was all there, sidecar mounts on the frame, Earles forks, hump-worthy right there. I wonder who rides it, probably a professor...in the land of crotchrockets I don't see a student having one of those

Oh, and there are a ton of cheap GS500E's around here lately, but shipping one of them may be a little much

Welcome to the IHoP
I was probably just going to ask $10 plus a couple for shipping...but to get to you, I don't know if it'd be worth it...maybe not. Shipping in a padded envelope should be easy on $$. As far as usps says it's about $15 to ship. No rush, I need a big amp first and I don't know what I'm going to buy. If you have someone interested in it, sell it. Don't hold it for me Nope, nobody interested, just wasn't sure if it's more economical for you to buy something over there or here I didn't even knew I still had one, I guess I must have bought an extra for some reason.

What is a nitro subwoofer bass tube?
What does this have to do with home audio?
-
king of bass
There's plenty of other immature forums for this attitude to go on, this one isn't one of them. If you have a personal problem with someone, take it to PM, thanks.

Help please with picking new subs
Just adding a different sub in the mix is no guarantee it won't explode in a short time, too...
-
Please help!!!!
I wouldn't quite be that conservative, a 15 foot run of 2awg will pass more than 100A without any issues

GOOD 6x8's
I'd make 6.5" adapters...you'd probably be surprised at the midbass potential of a 6.5" given the right installation

Playing with Big Boy Monster 15"
Well I don't know of any subs that will take 6k daily anyways. Nevermind the speakers, do you know anyone's ears that will take that every day?

Custom SSA ICON 10's
That's not a ported enclosure...if you're looking for a more SPL-oriented driver there are better options out there. I'd also look for ones with slightly higher Qts values than the Icon, as well.

Welcome to the IHoP
Well, found an R75/5 that would be a little bit of a project, but nothing I couldn't do if I took my time... /5's are just so damn cool. Hmmm...

Bullshit. That reminds me of a story the school's paper ran a few days ago, where they confused ethanol with biodiesel...we have how many chemical engineers on campus, and you can't get that right? I tend to agree with most of that article. I think raising crops of any kind for any kind of fuel is the wrong idea. Most of the world is already starting to starve for water, and the use of extra crops will just lead to more irrigation and faster depletion of the water sources. and I don't think wind is the answer either, as that depends on a variable input. I've always liked nuclear and solar power, although I knew solar was fairly inefficient. But if everybody would cover their roofs with solar panels I think that's enough to power the house. It's just normally cost prohibitive. Hydro is iffy. There are only so many places that we can put a dam. But doesn't the Hoover dam power all of Las Vegas plus some? That's quite a drain and that dam does a good job at that. From what I've heard, solar is still ridiculously expensive. I was talking to some people whose neighbor looked into covering his roof.... $80,000 supposedly sounds... in the realm. I was looking at that or wind. To buy a wind set up it was 50K for one tower. I think we need to concentrait on making our buildings much more insulated, and efficient, not find a new way to make more juice. How large of a system were you looking at? 50K sounds like you were looking at 10kW...fully installed...with a 100' tower Energy efficiency sort of goes hand-in-hand with any kind of RE. I have a feeling a big factor when I start looking at houses & land is going to be microhydro potential If you're going to go off-grid with one source of energy, hydro is so cheap compared to the others it's nuts.

That's quite a drain and that dam does a good job at that. My problem with that article was that he assumed that all RE would be done on a commercial scale, which I think is a stupid idea anyway. With a country the size of the US, the only way it makes sense is to do it on the residential scale, from the bottom-up. No transmission line losses, no waste of land to massive commercial facilities.- Midbass driver
I assume you mean you have two of these? Midbass is stereo, does you no good just to have one.- Welcome to the IHoP
