Custom welded grills would look rather sharp, IMO The high-clearance grills from Parts Express may not look the best, but they do protect the driver from shifting cargo somewhat, as long as something doesn't get through the bars and pokes a hole in the cone.

What are you after? Dave Edwards (a moderator on this site) had a PG MS1000 and Sundown SAZ-1500D running with no problems, but he wasn't after maximum output and the equipment was operating well within its limits. Start to push things, and you may run into problems...

Did you ever replace the oil seals? Supposedly on the SOHC's it's a piece of cake, but I'm not sure how complex Honda got in the '80s with the DOHC's...
