  1. looks pretty good man. nice work!
  2. The 4 BLs should be louder. Also leaves you with more thermal capability than the BTLs.
  3. Nice to have you man. Looken good
  4. The Q is not a bad sub but like said before the X-con is another level above it. SQ wise i feel the x-con is much stronger and its capabilities in the spl realm surpass that of my previous Fi BL so i see no better choice for a driver. I have yet to be impressed by any driver since getting my X-cons.
  5. Iv used bolts and i will continue to use them. I do use 1/4 brass bolts though. I have a very accurate ohm meter and i read no resistance even down to .0000 on a 10ft run of 8ga and a 1/4 brass bolt. Now if you have a 20kw system and your looking for tenths maybe but its highly unlikely you will ever see a change.
  6. In the proper enclosure it will be safe down to 20hz.
  7. For 1 18 sealed that's great but id stick with 15s then you might be able to go ported as well.
  8. Had the same issue at Freeman's car audio. They went as far as saying x-cons were junk and i should get w3 15"s instead. Oh and not to mention they wanted 7-800 for a 7cu/ft box
  9. what kinda power you gonna have or do you have? How much room? Can it be a single 15" or do you want 2 drivers?
  10. db-r is top notch! Broken parts are replaced and they are tested from top to bottom. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to buy from them.
  11. Wish i could have found you before i got mine would have been nice.
  12. Its always hard to put a budget on car audio. If its really gonna be hard there is always the possibility to use a pair of d-con 12s too.
  13. 1200-1400w is a little much for an i-con but for an x-con it will work wonderful. allow you a little more thermal capability while giving you a good deal more output. Dont get me wrong you can turn down the gain on the amp and run the i-con which i think is an amazing sub as well.
  14. so many other choices for that kinda money. ever think about an x-con or i-con
  15. Im gonna blame it on the box like the others are. I was doing a 145+ with 600wrms to each of my 15s. With a wall in your truck i think you should be seeing high 140s with that kinda power.
  16. I've been slacking i got mine on a couple weeks ago. Gotta go to a friends shop tomorrow he wants to take a few pictures of my car for his shop since he built the box. I should have one up later on in the day after that.
  17. That's not too bad man good to hear. Obviously the freeman's i went to was full of jackasses then and they also went as far as telling me my x-cons were garbage and i should get w6's =P
  18. Looks pretty good man. Good while back i asked freeman's about building a box for me and they quoted me 6-700 so i said screw that. If you dont mind me asking how much did that set you back.
  19. more power.......... looks good man i need to get some new ones up myself.
  20. mine put out 2950wrms +/- 10w at a 1.8ohms all 3 times i tested it. voltage and amperage were no more than .1 - .2 different.
  21. I would say very comparable but i still love Stinger HPM. The way they twist the wire makes it easy to put into terminals and put rings on easily. not to mention its crazy flexible.
  22. Crazy box man.. interested to see how it works.

Welcome man!!! hope you join us ssa guys and throw some x-cons in your ride
  24. Either way it wont matter since you will be giving both speakers the same power either way, usually it would matter if you run them at 1 ohm or 2 ohms (since a lower ohm load = equals lower power and less strain on the vehicles voltage) but in this case you will be bridging at its ohm load stability also so I think it will be an even call. It just boils down to personal preference. Sorry jay-cee your incorrect. lower ohm load = a higher strain on your electrical system. you loose efficiency as the ohm load goes down there fore your amplifier requires more amperage. Its solely dependent on the amp if you can run it at .5ohms some can some cant. In my opinion i wouldn't run an amp below rated specs unless your aware of the the harm you can do and willing to live with the out come. For a daily situation you'll be far better off at 1ohm and that would be the best advice i can give you.
  25. I gotta agree with Tirefryr on the past few posts. Im right there with him.
