Do active head units have subsonic filters?
whats wrong with a fmod? X2 ///M5. I'm sure you have a good reason for staying away from them. also can anybody recommend a half way decent external crossover. I really just need a high pass crossover because the amp im using already has a low pass on it

Do active head units have subsonic filters?
I'm wondering will a active head unit solve my problem. I have a jbl gto 1201.1 II and it doesnt have a subsonic filter. I probably going to get a Alpine 9887.

RF T1500BD or Stetsom 1K5
Both are good amps. I say go with stetsom just because there are less people running them than fosgate

Electrical Equipment????
What amp are you running. Your amp determines what electrical you need not your subwoofer

SAX-1200D Pre-Order OPEN
Cant wait for more testing on this amp. Im wondering how it will do at a 0.5 ohm? I know it would probably void the warranty but this thing looks like a small tank

best sub for the money
Your best bet is probably going to be finding a used subwoofer with your budget. Might be able to find a 12" BL with that money

XCON worth extra $100 in my case?
There is a thread where a guy was running 1000 rms to his icon and took it out and put a xcon in the exact same enclosure and he said he noticed a big difference. Search through the threads and you should be able to find it.

Fi comparison
I would go with the BL's but it all depends on the install. I have never been a big fan of Alpine woofers I've been pretty happy with the r's. what do you like about the BL's, and what don't you like about alpines? I prefer the BL's over the type x's because of the output BL's. I have never heard the type r's in person but as far as the type x's they sound pretty clean but the output is not really there. Maybe i should have said I'm not a big fan of the Alpine type x woofers instead of making a general statement about all of their lines

XCON Tucson Arizona Tour @ Southwest Audio Fest May 2010
Did you guys notice on the video that as the notes got lower the db's got higher? Thats pretty impressive

my xcon died :(
It looks like it was a user error. Maybe you should sell the xcon and look into a spl sub. What about a Fi BTL?

Finally got my response from American Bass
lol you beat me to it

Finally got my response from American Bass
Just buy a amp that does 1000 rms at 1 ohm and watch your gains. Wiring at 1.5 ohms should still get you the power they need
-
What are your guys opinions
Your amp probably wont last to long unless you beef up your electrical
-
is anybody familiar with this amp??

Memphis Amps?
I have always loved memphis amps. I have owned the 16-1000d and the Mojo 2000d and both were built like tanks. Both are kinda old school though. I havent ran any of their newer amps

15" xcon not good at upper bass??
There inlies the problem. Your box is tuned LOW. No turning back though, it's what you ordered. Buy a set of components and make sure you research many different kinds before you go asking questions. x2 your box is tuned to 29 hz of course its not going to sound strong on higher bass notes. Your box was designed to kill the lows. If your looking for a component set that has monster mid bass look at the JBL GTI series. It will pick up those notes over 60 hz with no problem. Or for a cheaper solution you could go active

Ms. Pinkie build
Thats impressive! Whats the box tuned to? Whats powering the sub?

Fs is a better measurement for low end output
