Anyone use any ribbon tweets? I have heard them in home but never seen them in a car audio application. Any have opinions?- Welcome to the IHoP
Go big get you a .454 revolver, gives you everything you need if you can fire it more than once every 10 mins. Recoil is a bitch- RTA
I was wanting to kind of get a feel, what I have sounds good now, was just wondering if I need to clean the sound up for Competition. Never competed before so I wanted to get all my eq sliders in a row so to speak. They have a competition called the RTA FREQ out and wanted to see what I had before I went into it.- RTA
I have been to the 2 local (small ) car stereo shops in the area and neither have RTA. Anyone have any suggest to get a reading of my system. Would love to be able to get it tuned up- Where does everyone get there.....
I was wondering where you guys get your home theater components. Speakers, amps, crossovers. I am looking @ rebuild my home theater from the ground up and was wondering where everyone shopped for the parts.- Port size
What difference if any does the width of the port make? I understand the tuning and freq changes and all that but lets says you have 2 boxes size and build appropriate for 33 hrz. for 2 12's, if you could build the box with a 2 in wide square port, a 3 in flared port, or what is the down size to using a smaller port area say a 2 in round or a 1 in wide sq port. I realize that it would reduce air flow, but if you have the box built and the port tuned properly does it really matter?- Massive Audio P3000.1
I have a buddy that ran massvie, did really well for him. He was pushing 4 15's off 2 those. only thing I didn't like was not 1 ohm stable not a huge deal but I like the stability and the option to go lower.- MDF or just plywood?
I use birch plywood, its light weight easy to work with and have never had a problem with vibration off the wood. I would not use regular plywood its craptastic. its 26 bucks for mdf here 42 for birch. its a little more expensive but looks really good, is light and really easy to work with. Hope this helps- Anyone With ICONS around

Looks great, Did you make the door pods your self? I am not sure I have the leg room for doors like. I am 6'2 and 350lbs bmfer LOL, I bet that setup sounds amazing. What speakers are those in the doors?- Need a lesson in RTA and Crossover set up
I feel like such a newbywhen it comes to the processing, hardwiring and and install I dont have any real problem with, its the fine tuning that I suck @ so far. Anyone have a suggestion when it comes to tuning is it just listening and getting it where you want it, or is there a test you can run it through to help the set up- A pillar location Not just for tweets
What kind of setup do you have in your 1500?- Need a lesson in RTA and Crossover set up
The RTA does not have a Q adjustment only the crossover, thats where my confusion lies the eq also has a Q adjustment but I know what that is for.- Welcome to the IHoP
Are there any software packages on the market that can control your systems configurations, Ie crossover, eq, etc ? So if you had a computer in your vehicle could make it work for you- Need a lesson in RTA and Crossover set up
Clarion 785usb- Whats the best sounding HU in your opinion??
I have clarion 785usb and I love it has lots of features and sounds better than the Kenwood excelon I had.- Need a lesson in RTA and Crossover set up
I have a 3 way electronic crossover 18db slope and rta on my Head unit. I have 3 6 volt preouts front, rear, and subs, I have my tweets run off front channel and my mids ( 2 5.25's ) off the rear channel and the subs my question is. I know what freq the crossover points are, but I am not sure what Q is on the crossover, I can adjust the freq range and the q of the crossover. And I think I may be doing my high and low pass on the bandpass portion incorrectly. I have the high pass set to 3500 and the lowpass set to 100, was not sure about the Q so I left it alone. I have not done anything with RTA, I messed with it some but could not tell a real difference in positioning but I dont think I moved it much. I was wondering what is the best way to go about setting it up. If anyone has any reference materials or advice. I would greatly appreciate it.- A pillar location Not just for tweets
Well, Dodges are HUGE! especially newer ones. ya mine is a 2000 its good size only thing is I wish it was a ext cab but cant have it all- A pillar location Not just for tweets
That was my next concern was getting them to image correctly with them being in you face like that I was wondering how to even it out so you dont get blasted by one side. I was considering turning them into the windshield to give it more of delay to the listener but thought it might make it to bright and splashy, Also considered facing them to the middle, I wonder if I added a center speaker if that would helpme or hurt me. The only reason I mention that is cause I am considering taking the middle vents out to put a 7 in monitor in the dash. and if I do that then the room for the center speaker would be nothing to come up with.- A pillar location Not just for tweets
Cool deal I was thinking it would bring the sound right up to you and with the midbass being in the doors should bring it inand front of you alot more. I am really getting stoke about trying this out. - Ribbon tweets for Car audio
