12" BTL how loose should the suspension get?
not yanking it below tuning, on tones i got the sub to its max on excursion wise... so im not sure if thats a bad thing for a burp? i have the subsonic set with my oscope to 32 hz, box tuning is 34 hz. any tips on getting the excursion level down while still maintaining the same decibel number? also im competing in a division that clamps the amp, so playing the note closest to the box tuning will show less power actually being thrown at the sub? Thanks guys Then that isn't where your box is tuned to... At tuning frequency that should be where your excursion is the absolute least and your impedance is highest. it is the absolute least and it where my score is the highest as well: im pretty sure its tuned to 34 hz... and i think its getting used to the power and stuff now, causer the cone gets very little warm compared to the first day i put the 3000 in. id like to think that because the sub was on only 1000wrms for about a month it got used ot it and then when it hrew some power at it it was like: "holy shit what is this!!!" then its like "oh thats not so bad..." lol. but you guys make great subs thats for sure, just dont want to blow it..

SPL BOX ADVICE CHEVY CAVALIER
some how it poped up to a 147.0 @ 34 hz today... could the temperature have an effect on it? it was a little cool today, maybe the alt was putting out more power or something... but i repeated the score 4 time buy letting it sit for 5 minute with car off and turning it all back on... IDK, but i find it impressive for the 12" to hit that loud and low... but its still no 150. still need suggestions.

SPL BOX ADVICE CHEVY CAVALIER
LOL at the cool ass car comment. hahahaha. if your talking about the signature pic then thats just my dream, if your talking about the way it really is then i am sorry for you... lol. dang i didnt know i was that good at photoshop... haha and i could strap another one, just not right now, im restricted by power, can only throw 2000 watts clamped power at the sub so doing the extra amp wouldnt help, yes i do have room for more batteries.

SPL BOX ADVICE CHEVY CAVALIER
Hi All, Here is what ive learned form messing around with my Term-Lab and my Daily tuned box (2.5 cuft with 41 sq of port tuned to 34 hz wave guides and double kerfed port). i have learned that the box is loudest firing towards the drivers side of the trunk completely sideways like this: Im hitting a 146.7 outlaw doing this at 36 hz. Ive also tried flipping the box upside down and the port and sub position flipped and it doesnt matter on the meter which way it goes. now im thinking a 40-42 hz tune with aero ports, possibly 2 6" ones. now i want to hit a 150 with this outlaw, i believe it would be simple if i tuned the box higher and get some more control over the higher bass notes. also the number was with stock electrical one battery, in the end (very soon) i will have a 320 DC power alt and a yellow top up front and a kinetic 1800 in the back, im not sure but i may try to get the kinetic up fornt and put a 2400 in the back. but for right now the yellow top up frontwith the kinetic in the back is the plan. So in the end, I wish for some help on how to accomplish my goal of the 150, i am willing to test almost anything that doesnt require me destroying my car or building more than 2 more boxes. one more thought, could i just add 2 x 4s to the box that i have now to increase tuning? like if i brought the box volume to about 2 cuft it would change the tuning to 38 hz (did the math). what would be effected by this? would i have more power handleing? would it decrease the efficiency of the power i throw at the sub (this is very important as in the class i will be running i can only use 2000 wrms of clamped power)? so SPL guru's, What would you do?

12" BTL how loose should the suspension get?
The title says it all. basically im wondering how loose the suspension should get because im pushing this thing pretty damn hard. and im just not sure if its normal to loosen up this quickly. i just put my saz-3000 in the other day and before that it was on my rockford t1500. lets just say the saz is giving it a work out. the first day i put it in and got it o scoped so no clipping occurs, the dust cap was getting fairly warm (almost hot), but now about 2 days after putting the saz-3000 in i can play 35 hz tones at 0 db for a good period of time (burping for 10 seconds then turning down, then repeat the process for about 5 minutes) and the cone barely gets warm.... im just wondering if im hitting mechanical limits and not thermal limits. i know its box to box differences. SO how loose should the suspension get?

for usaci they rate you on your 4 ohm amp power for all your amps. so, what amps do you have in the car and what are their rated 4 ohm power? then you will be entered into classes that way. they will help you out when you get there. just try out a few different ones. have fun and meet people. you will learn ALOT at your first show!

This!, my 12" does a 143.1 Streat beat (bass race) on this song. but like stated beofre evry vehical is different. just make sure the bass doesnt stop during the 30 seconds! u need to play the bass the entire time to get a good score. if mr weber is there tell him anton says hi. lol where is the comp anyways? probly milwauke... too far for me.

thanks for the input, that would definitely be a cheaper and easier way to do it!

removable battery, best way to do it?
Hi all, My question is a daily/Competing question. it has to do with the Street classes in DB drag. in street A they only allow One (1) battery in the stock location. which is fine, for competing and doing the whole burp it and go thing. but with an saz-3000 i feel i will need more than one battery for daily driving and for the other organization im competing in Midwest SPL (no battery restrictions). so my question is what is the best way to do this? safely of course. My initial thought was to have a sort of buss bar for positive and negative (this may get complicated so bear with me). I will run one 2/0 welding cable from the front battery to the trunk Buss bars (both positive and negative) the bus bars will be mounted near each other, but not too close. they will be very close to the second battery that will need to be removed for db drag. and just use the buss bars for the amp pos and neg and the removable battery pos and neg. the buss bars would be covered in a way that they would not and could not ground or arc to anything. any other ideas on this? Thanks for your time, Anton Miller

is something wrong with my btl
when you hooked it up to your friends amp did you use your car or his car? and if you can try to hook up a different sub to the amp and see if it works that might help to narrow down the issue. and check the sub with the DMM like stated before, see what the ohm load is on each coil. dont forget to post any results.
