  1. I shall, thx. just noticed youre in IN, whereabouts?
  2. They are worth it. im sure of it, i suppose i should get my system working properly before even thinkin about it........chit, too late...thought about it. Have fun with her!!
  3. Thanks for the reply. Well the 3500d is a recent install and this issue occured before with my 2200 so at least i can be relatively sure its not the amp. Someone needs to invent a "Code reader" for car audio, just plug it in and wait for it to tell u what and where the issue is. I guess then i wouldnt get to enjoy endless pre dawn hours of frustration filled attempts at diagnosis. Anyone near north indy wanna help for beer and sunflower seeds?......beers are imports and the seeds are bbq, pretty sweet deal if u ask me. Any pointers on where to start? Have a dmm, no access to other hu's to test with. Thanks again.
  4. want!
  5. A gremlin that ive experienced once before, and that disappeared on its own before, is back and making me a bit furious. Lows are diminished, kind of loose and hollow sounding. The higher notes are overly strong and seemingly impervious to lpf settings, have a sort of trembling effect to them too. Lower notes often come thru with an initial high note hit thats very pronounced and then goes into the actual note that should be playing but weak and with that "trembling" type effect mentioned earlier. Just sounds out of phase and shitty overall. Ive tweaked all hu and amp settings with no change. This most recent appearance of the gremlin occured after installing an EA alt, but as stated ive had this EXACT issue once before with the stock alt. Any ideas? Bad h\u ground? Ipod\adapter issues? Thanks in advance, im goin nuts here! Heres the system rundown- kdc-x991 ipod in glove box with kenwood adapter RFt400-4 AQ 3500d.1 RF t1652 components in doors zcon 15 d2 @1ohm 3.84 cuft aeroported @34hz Big 3 in 0ga EA 220amp XS d2400 upfront Deka agm group31 in trunk tsunami rcas knu, tsunami, and scosche 0&4ga, all ofc
  6. Lookin great!, it'll make that z mucho happy. makin me wanna build a new box for MY zcon, doesn't need one, just got the itch now....damn build logs! P.s.- I. Wish I had that garage to work in
  7. I like that 4th order, id rotate to have the port firing down, raised up on some feet. thanks for the input!
  8. Thanks for the response! It may see some direct rain, only if it gets truly gnarly outside, which tends to happen in indiana summer thunderstorms. The constant humidity is my main concern, its sticky as HELL here. I want to go ported but theres so many bugs and various critters that would love to make a home out of a nice enclosure that it concerns me, are there port grilles or meshlike materials that exist that wouldnt impede the airflow too much? As far as output, not looking for anything major. Listening area is only about 15ft by 20ft(patiodeck) and neighbors wouldnt tolerate anything more than moderate listening levels, old f'ers. Im confident i could make the enclosure pretty impervious to the elements, its mainly the sub that im concerned with. Is a marine sub a silly thought? My plan was downward firing, under a bench thats back is against the house, mostly under the roofline. it would be relatively protected but i dont see it escaping direct water exposure on at least a few occasions.
  9. Need some advice\input, Looking to build an outdoor\patio subwoofer enclosure and find a suitable subwoofer to put in it. I am completely new to outdoor audio, my initial thoughts were a marine subwoofer and a birch box doused in resin and truck bedliner? Again, TOTALLY new to all of this so i may be way off. Whatever the sub and enclosure material, they will both need to stand up to the very muggy, hot central indiana summer weather. Sealed or possibly PR enclosure, Will be powered by a dayton 150 watt amp. Any and all input is greatly appreciated, thanks.
  10. Arc would b another high quality choice if ur set on the 1 amp route. Never heard any arc I wasn't impressed with.
  11. a different kind of crazy claim- The owner of one of the "premiere" shops in town told me how "all those internet & underground brands like sundown, aq, dc, etc. are junk. All of their amps MAYBE put out half their rated power and sound horrible while doing it" he also told me how horrible all RF is and that the new 2500bdcp really only does 500 watts max. Good times.
  12. yeah its a tad lenghty(thats what she said) and quite the bombardment of questions, probly why only one person posted any valid responses. If u get around to figuring it out feel free to offer ur opinions/insight
  13. have u looked at db-r site as suggested? aq1200? if ur set on massive or hifonics go with massive. post in the wtb section on forums and see what u come up with, good luck.
  14. I'll start with the electrical rundown- EA 220 amp alt., big 3 in 0ga, xs d2400 under hood, deka 100ah g31 agm in trunk, 1 pos. run 0ga between batts, all cable is ofc. Now for the questions, first the alt- i was told that the bolts holding the alt in place are all the ground you need but i feel like i should have a 0ga ground also. good idea? unnecessary? Now for some fusing-how should my pos. between batts be fused? i have an aq3500d.1 about to go in, do i need to fuse for its 400 amp rating?,fuse for the max current capacity of the cable at 15-20ft?, fuse for the max amt of amps that my alt and front batt can deliver? Are there any performance differences in anl vs. the multiple midi mini fuses? Now for the cable- how beneficial is a run/s of neg. between batts? Is it necessary to do a 2nd run of pos.? Seems to me the one run should be more than adequate to carry all the current the alt+front batt can give to the back batt/amps but i have certainly been wrong before. Thanks in advance for any and all help, to those tempted to tell me that u never fuse and its not necessary u can save both our time and not post, thx.
  15. when, where and how much? shit theres too many f'n subs i want!!
