  1. Gotta love beefy 10's. I miss my hdc310's
  2. I know it's expensive... but if your the type that likes extremely intense, absolutely insane bass, a BTL will be a great introduction to Fi for you.
  3. LOL it really isn't about what I want. Although if you get the X it will save you alot of money and keep you on budget. 15" X and that US Amps Xterminator I link'd. Bam. those 2 together will give me a good system? Yes. Put the X in a box around 4 cubes tuned @ 32hz. Get a KnuKonceptz wiring kit here. Headunit is your preference. I prefer Kenwood. alright man, im trusting you. ha shit better be going hammer. lol You will be reasonably happy with the x15. I have 2 of the x12's and they do great for what they are.
  4. I vouch 110% for DC power. I have only seen 1 person have a problem with their service/products in the three years I have been on this and other forums. (I have a dual alt kit from them and love it)
  5. Forgot to post the box for the seleniums. I mounted some horn loaded tweeters in the sides and front. Had to put new diaphrams in 2 of the horns... they told me they didn't like having a low xover (they blew in about an hour). And the box; Also a better view of the way I am mounting my amps.... if I just had 1 extra inch I'd be in much better shape. Everything is such a tight fit! The wires have been organized, I just ran out of time on the first day.
  6. Fixed... they will be 18's

I was going to wait until I had finished everything, but by the time my subs get here I will be too old to type. haha --- Previous setup (~147 on music) Fi Audio Generation 2 BTL 18 Sundown Audio 3000D 2 Optima Yellow Tops Sundown Audio 50.4 Polk Audio component sets in the front doors and kicks --- What's going in 2 Fi Audio Generation 3 BTL N2's (18s) Sundown Audio 3000D (.5 ohm) 4 Optima Yellow Tops, some sort of group 31 in the oem secondary battery tray not changing the component sets in the kicks/doors leaving the 50.4 adding 3-4 apt super tweeters and some selenium mids for rear fill (just when I'm at shows with the hatch open) And some pictures; First part of the new system to arrive; 250SP Before After The Idea; Trying to form the idea into reality Everything out and ready for the box Slid the box in Had to get some more power for the .5 ohm transition Still waiting on the VCM, Waiting on FI for the subs. I'll wait a couple of weeks before adding the second baffle/carpet. Thanks for looking Give me some feedback
  8. This was all caused by a loose connection. I had a shunt in between the battery and the amp so I could watch the current draw at all times. The connection on the amp side of the shunt got a little loose, and well it pretty much melted the wire into one big strand. I didn't shoot a picture of the connection, but you could tell it got hot. I know that the piece looks like Solder, but I assure you 110% it was CCA KNU wire. This time I'll tighten it up a little more And I cut another 3/4 inch further, I don't know what temperature it got to, but it made it to whatever temperature turns a copper ring terminal black with green and white corrosion.
  9. Wish mine would come
  10. I'm glad to have had a good experience with DC..... besides receiving my dual alt kit without any instructions, I got my order in a VERY timely fashion. They even sent me a larger alternator than I ordered for no cost. I called DC about 6 times while I was installing and someone answered the phone EVERY TIME. I would recommend DC to anyone before I saw this thread..... even though the parts are completely custom, 2 years is too long to wait and if I was DC I'd just provide a refund and throw in some free product. Sometimes companies go through issues that will eventually be resolved. Don't worry, in the end you will either have your money or have some alternators. Are you calling them? If so, what are they saying? If you really are getting serious about it... (I would be over that much money) send them a certified letter giving them a reasonable time frame to send the product, or if you don't receive the product by that date require a full refund.
  11. I never once thought Fi forgot about me or was taking my money and not giving me a product.... I just hate waiting, so I'm one of those people that ask for an update every other day. Fi makes the best product on the market today, which is why I don't mind waiting for it.

I hope to have these a few days before christmas.... it's looking less and less likely.

Can we get another update... because FI is going to start giving me grey hairs pretty soon. Are we still on for shipment by tomorrow if I ordered like ~3 weeks ago?

Get the largest wire that the amp will take.... I've never purchased an amp kit, but just make sure whatever you buy includes everything you need! (the proper lengths, fuses, etc.) (1) RCA's (2) Power Wire (3) Remote Wire (4) Proper Fuses (amount varies from setup to setup)... upon further thought the 1500 may have fuses in the amp, but you will still need one on the battery side (5) Speaker Wire... you can use the largest the subs will take I highly recommend the 100% copper wire from Knu.... good product, fast shipping, good support.
  15. I explained it to someone like this; It is by far more important to upgrade your alternator before getting higher capacity batteries. Batteries are only a temporary fix. Think of it this way... You have a container (batteries) that holds 1000 gallons of water. You have a pipe (alternator) filling the container at 250 gallons per hour. With the flood gates (amps) wide open you let go 1500 gallons per hour. Your going to run out of water quickly with the flood gates (amps) wide open, and in an electrical sense you will be getting unhealthy voltage drops before the resovior is empty. If you bump up the water source (alternators) you solve all problems.
  16. He could likely talk to someone like DC power and get a dual alt bracket.... just put a standard 4 prong oval gm alt as the second alt and separate it and a bat bank just for the system. One thing I've learned.... doing electrical properly is almost as expensive as the subs/amps its powering.
  17. I'm not sure if you mentioned what amp your using.... but I'd likely ignore the rms on mids / highs. I'm using a Sundown Audio 50.4. It's running; 2 Polk Audio Component Sets 2 Polk Audio Coaxials 4 Selenium 6.5's And 3 Eminence horn loaded tweeters The amp pushes the speakers to their max.... to the point where you wouldn't want to turn it up anymore.
  18. I love my polk audio component sets.... I have them in the doors, and kicks. They were a perfect matchup for my BTL 18.

I got confirmation from FI that these should all be shipped out by the coming up Tuesday. They had countless molding issues, and that was the cause of the delay. I've been riding around for the past few weeks with a empty 20 ft ^3 box in the back of my truck with only door speakers to listen to.
  20. Either Krispy - Bulletproof (C&S) Or Bass Balling - Bass Mekanic
  21. I saw this in person... all I can say is BJ has some crazy highs on the outside too for sure
  22. It's been in its own amp rack separated from the sub enclosure.... maybe hitting a bump hard or something did it. Thanks

Instead of posting 3 posts, next time just edit the first one.
  24. Well if I hadn't already ordered from Fi I would of tried some xcons at this pricing.
  25. I am undergoing a rebuild, and took everything out of my truck to check on everything. After opening my amp I found this zip tie broken, I don't foresee any problems forming from not having it... but it had to be there for some reason. Will my amp be alright? Thanks!
