It's not meant for pure SPL applications.
  3. Team subs
  4. Big things take time.
  5. Adding a little bracing to the inside of the box using dowel rod or threaded rod isn't going to have much of an effect on your tuning. Show pictures of the box.
  6. Your sub would cost more if there were a phone #. Their subs are built from scratch, sometimes they have issues with machines, suppliers, etc. They're not going to screw you over.
  7. NICK YOU PODA TELL US WUT U GON DO!
  8. Nick has designed an amp where the 20kHz+ switching frequency of the power supply FET's is filtered out and not supplied to the output stage, thus reducing fried leads.

Well, in that instant, the company is just giving team prices to anyone that meets a small list of requirements. And then people automatically assume they are on the team, when that's not always the case. Which at one point, mostly back in the day, a lot of companies gave discounts to competitors regardless if they was on the team or not. But now, with internet prices being so cheap, its almost like everybody can get a deal. So it doesn't matter as much. I mean having a big group of people running a smaller, just really beginning to grow, company's equipment can be a good thing. Instead of spending money on advertisements, they sell product for a discount in hope it will achieve the same goal. Pretty much. There's only a handful of companies that I see with "serious" teams where the team members are actually monitored and the companies keep track of them. Hybrid Audio Technologies is a good example of this.

If Scott and Nick decide to do a team, I imagine it will only be made of people they consider friends. Too many people get discounts from sponsors, then turn around and sell the equipment for profit. I don't think they would want to be like some of the other companies that allow crazy amounts of people to get discounts and have pretty much no monitoring of what the team is doing.
  15. The BL is a totally different beast from what JL subs are meant to do. The BL is meant to bang, while JL subs are more designed for a quality sound. However, Fi has their sound quality drivers too.
  16. Assuming that the cooling is done in the same fashion as the BTL's, by looking through the vents on the basket you can see grooves in the top plate and pole piece. If there aren't any grooves machined, then it doesn't have the cooling option.
  17. What Stealth said.
  18. I think that the website is pretty clear about the purposes of the subs...
  19. Trying turning the subsonic all the way down and the lowpass nearly all the way up. You said the sub is wired correctly, so I'm thinking that the sub isn't getting much power. Have a friend with a dmm and clamp meter so that you can read the ouput voltage and current from the amp?
  20. It doesn't hurt to wait a little longer for something that will keep you happy in the long run
