  1. I don't find those charts too accurate.
  2. The red Explorer was doing 154's at the headrest. The black blazer did a 148.1 at the headrest w/ an Audioque 15 and Powerbass 3000d @ 0.5. This was with the car off, playing music, and a single battery under the hood. This is the truck that is on the main page of www.audioque.com right now. The Jeep did 146's at the head and a 150 in the kick with 2 Type R 12's, Viper 2500d amp and stock electrical system. These ideas should help you out, a ton.
  3. This car posted a 148.9 at the headrest at MECA World Finals. The crazy thing is that we never even messed with the tuning of the box, so I'm figuring that this box could have done a 149.5 - 150 at the headrest with some more time. On the dash, I'm sure it was already doing a 150. Equipment: Amps: Sundown saz3000d's (2) Subs: Sundown Nightshade 12's (2) Box: 2 6" aeros
  4. Since pictures say a million words, I'll show you some loud setups that my team has had. In this Blazer we actually found that the best firing position is sub to the passenger side and ports back. All we did was rotate the box. Most of these are very loud setups. They should give you a good start.
  5. Test and tune is your best method I only use calculators to get an idea of where I'd like to start with the port length.
  6. I don't see your windshields having a very long life span
  7. Tune that box higher and you should gain a lot of score
  8. Jacob, Our new van peaks at 58 hz and holds two 18's. It will put up some surprisingly loud #'s w/ low power. My team would love to test out some 18" prototypes w/ high power (4 AB 500.1's or 4 SAZ300d's) for you. Please get with me or Bud Ballinger if you're interested.
  9. Please send me a sub for some testing. An 18 would be nice
  10. car:1994 Mazda B2300 Ext. Cab Electrical: Mean Green 200A alt, Kinetik 1400 and 2400, 2 big grey batteries Amps: 2- Sundown 3000's strapped @ 2 ohms, 35A of fusing Subs: 2- Alpine Type R 15's Box: 6.75 cubes Mic: Termlab Tone: 43 hz Score: 152.2 at the headrest (initial testing), 151.8 at the headrest (MECA World Finals), 153+ in the kick
  11. car:1994 Mazda B2300 Ext. Cab Electrical: Mean Green 200A alt, Kinetik 1400 and 2400, some big grey battery Amps: Kicker zx2500.1 Subs: single Alpine Type R 15 Box: 3.X cubes Mic: Termlab Tone: 45 hz Score: 151.0 dB (certified) at the headrest, 152+ dB in the kick
  12. They would both work, but there are a ton of factors determining how well they would work together. Are you just looking for a moderate volume daily bump? Do you want to be loud? What box size do you plan to go with? Enclosure efficiency and what you consider loud has a huge impact on what route you should take.
  13. I accidently sent my info to Jacob instead of you a few days ago. He said that he would forward it to you. Did you get it? Thanks!

I can't say that I have experience with either, but I know that the new BTL's can handle some serious power, with the right options. Keep in mind this is a CRX fart setup, but I know of a guy that burps two 15" BTL's off 4 American Bass 500.1's. I would think that the BL should be much louder with lower power (2.5kWish and below), while the BTL will excel with high power levels. If anyone has more experience, please correct me.
  15. I haven't tried them in a Drag setup, but I do know that Northstar batteries are pretty nice. One of my teammates used one for a MECA amateur class. It held up well to a Powerbass 3000 @ .5 ohm and car off.
  16. My "truck tool box" isn't used for tools, it is used for batteries instead.
  17. That's what we do:) We got 3 championships at MECA finals; should have had 4, but Bud Ballinger's amps went into protect.
  18. Shocker Sig motor.
  19. Sometimes people gain by putting duct tape around their subs to seal off leaks. Personally, I havent' gained from doing this. A better solution is to silicone the underside of the basket where it mounts to the box.
  20. The only way to know if they will help is to test. Sometimes you wouldn't think that they will distract airflow, but it can:) I've placed 45's under my sub, which you would think is a dead spot for air flow, but I lost. Even a small corner that takes up very little volume can hurt your score by a few tenths.
  21. Hahahahaha.
  22. Please don't pick on me too much
  23. Corey, put my 151.8 on there. The 151.3 makes me embarassed
  24. Putting 45's in your corners doesn't always help. Actually, a lot of times it doesn't help. I have yet to have a box in my truck where 45's have helped; often times they have hurt my score by .5 dB or less. So far, my team has only had one box so far where 45's were successful and we only gained .3 dB from it.
