  1. the best box would probably be one in my trunk
  2. general rule is around 15 square inches of port per cubic foot of box
  3. full range speakers will probably cost you about the same as the SEAS tweeters, seems like kind of a waste unless ur gonna use them in some other project
  4. ^^^^ Sounds like the way to go if you want bass, if you dont mind fabrication to give them the airspace they need
  5. fritos, are you even running tweeters? that would seem like a logical first step, along with playing with the HP filter
  6. put 2 12 icons in a PTS box. the one he built for two 10's put out some crazy numbers, two 12s can only get better
  7. Just set it there to begin with, play around with it a little and see where you like it, but you probably won't want to go much higher
  8. 5.6 doesn't sound like a lot of room, but its within the recommended ported box size from Fi. But you should probably not seal off the trunk (if its going in a trunk car), which would give you less volume. I'm assuming that you factored in the volume of the port, and did you account for bracing? I would say try them sealed first before trying to cram them into a ported box. You could also try running just one in a bigger ported box. but if you are just concerned about loudness, why dont you get the BL? You could easily do 2 12's ported in that space and the BL's are designed more for SPL.
  9. thats awesome, hair trick with 1/2 the substage in a design not built for SPL
  10. ok, i was just wondering, because that would give a lot more flexibility, not having to worry about building/buying a crossover if i get new speakers
  11. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=300-752 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=300-806 either of those should be good, it depends on what box you are putting it in and how much bass you need
  12. you would have double the cone are and be able to give the sub plenty of power. As long as its in the right box, should be louder
  13. I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to run active x-overs at all 4 corners with one 4 channel amp. Like run both left tweeters off of one channel, both left woofers off one channel, etc
  14. can't hurt, as long as you account for the volume it will take up

sounds kinda like the matterhorn, that shipping container thing
  16. the bigger your box, the larger the peak at tuning, so if you have a smaller box, when you tune high it wont be as peaky
  17. If you give a budget, I'm sure a lot more people will respond
  18. I really wish I had the money... 2 of those would be awesome
  19. I vote for single icon and put it in a box from poundthatsound
  20. Does anyone know where to get the T/S specs for IA subs? they aren't listed in the SSA shop or on the IA website (talking specifically about the lethal injection series
  21. But we all do know, that the HDC3's are underrated... The alums can take 3k daily easy. But you're right, if you wanna burp 5k+ in each, invest in some better subs. So seeing around 2-3K each for burps (like he said earlier) should be fine if he does it in a smaller box
  22. Yea, but what determines the line length? Like what part of the driver? Vas, Qts,Sd,...?
  23. I'm kinda interested in doing a T-line or horn or ABC enclosure, just want to do something different, or at least see if it will work. I read a couple of articles on T-line design, but I don't really want to do that much math. I'm just looking for some general design guidelines/ what to expect in terms of results for those types of enclosures, which is probably a lot to ask, since there is a lot that goes into the design and fine-tuning of those enclosures. For example, if i wanted to do a T-line for a 10" woofer, how large of a "pipe" would I need? How much do I need to offset the driver from the end of the pipe? stuff like that...
  24. I'm using an eD 11Kv2 in a 2 ft^3 box tuned to 27 Hz, gets loud and sounds pretty good. I know a lot of people don't like eD, but the sub works great for me
