  1. Yeah that looks sick... Im sure your having fun right now Are you going to carpet the box or paint it? How about some vids and also installed photos
  2. I thought they were all the same motor and rated at 1000 watts for all models? The IXL18 in the D2 is rated at 1000 watts and im fairly sure the 15 is too, where does it say they are only 800 watts for the larger speakers?
  3. u r going to smoke that sub with 3000D  Depends on the gains etc etc but i doubt it can take 3000 daily, very few subs can
  4. Where? Can you give me a link to them? Ill do some searching now though
  5. Im very interested to see the TS specs, if it follows on from the ultra it could be an awesome HT subwoofer aswell. Any idea on the TS specs? Even if you cant say will it model well in large ported alignments tuned bellow 20Hz? I can see the AVS/HT Shack guys getting excited at the prospect of a new super 18 to follow on from the LMS...
  6. What i ment was that an RLs 18 would be a super woofer, i know they dont make one...
  7. Thanks for reposting those... Looking good, very beefy but not anywhere near as beefy as the Soundsplinter
  8. Your enclosures are amazing... Do you only make Car Audio sub cabinets? Well done and thanks for providing me with the motivation to continue some projects which are held at the box building stage
  9. Not sure what it is this month but everyone seems super woofer crazy... There are very similar threads all over the net even on home theater forums such as AVS and HTS Im thinking an RL s18
  10. I really like the beefy look the 10" has. Good choice Yeah there is something about beefy 8 and 10 inch drivers, the motor structure almost the same as the cone is always leads to a good looking woofer I think the only better looking 10 driver other than the ICON was TC Sounds OEM 10... Man that thing was a sexy sub
  11. Yeah use it for a Home Theater sub where its performance will really shine However if you do decide to build it i dont think there will be a problem, WinISD models the IXL 18 as being optimal sealed at 100L (not sure why Mach 5 recomends more) and in a car probably not even noticeable... Sealed with lots of power will provide some serious output for sure :bigclap: But then again i'd use it in my house instead
  12. That was exactly my thinking... Me need some Mach 5 input in this thread becasue id love to know if it can be done and under what conditions (ie a minimum buy?)
  13. Not in Australia... Mach 5 has an awesome Australian distributer and it seems to me considering how good the 10 is an 8 could be an awesome sub at an awesome price Im sure the RE is a good sub but i havn't seen many around the net, they dont seem that popular when compaired with the RLi 8
  14. Even if it was priced as the 10 is i still think it would sell... It will be interesting to see how the SSA 8 turns out and at what price, also if the soundsplinter 8's re appear on the market but if Mach 5 could produce an IXL 8 and sell it for $165 i think they would be onto a winner just as the IXL 18 has been a winner for the Home Theater crowd
  15. Really? I would have thought it would be slightly smaller... Just looked at Mach 5's web sight and i think the magnet is smaller than 8, maybe 7 1/2 I guess if its too hard its too hard but i would love to see an IXL 8
  16. Can we have a repost of the pictures which were on the front page? I never got to see them and it makes me sad This thread is really good because we NEED more performance 8inch subwoofers Keep up the hard work SSA
  17. Great news... Dont forget to keep working on those 8's aswell Congrats to SSA on another Speaker line
  18. So how about it Mach 5? Why not take the current IXL motor structure from the 10 and 12 and use it to make an 8 inch version? I think it would be awesome and if priced as the IXL 10 and 12 they would be very competitive... I'd order a few, with the same motor as the 10 it would be one very very beefy sub :bigclap: It seems these days more and more are looking to drivers in a smaller size which can be seen in Soundsplinters sucess with their 8. Mach 5 should cptialise on this market Anyway... PLEASE
  19. We will show the changes when we have the prototype. Ever thought about getting into politics? aaron wont crack :bigclap: We can keep trying... :bigclap: The market really needs an affordable high performance 8 Driver Hint Hint...
  20. You can find them for about 1/4 of that... Can we have a link please
  21. I was just about to say... Looks like someone has raided the Christmas tree early this year :bigclap: Post some pics when its installed Please
  22. sad news... very sad news At least you tried
  23. For the Australians on the site http://www.jaycar.com.au/ or http://www.altronics.com.au/
  24. Hey guys i have done some googling and looking around but i cant find a good enough answer to my question... Its it ok to invert subs when mounting them? The general feeling is due to the low frequencies it is ok but at what crossover level does the sub being inverted affect performance? I was thinking of mounting my IXL 10 inverted to protect the cone from occasional lose crap in the boot plus the motors look really sexy  However i cant help thinking that the motor structure must effect the sound quality as the air wave is being impeded by the Basket Anyway if you guys could give input that would be great I was thinking something like this with 2 IXL 10's *This is not my Photo but someone
  25. Hey guys this car is very competitive in the Street Class here in Australia and i was wondering what the amplifiers are? I know the subs are custom drivers made in Australia but the owner is tight liped on what the amplifers are, i was hoping someone might know what they are... Thanks
