  1. who? I haven't caught his real name yet, we are still talking about me coming down. He liked the speaker choices you made for me though, he was very impressed . His user name on CA.com though is xplicitACTS. I saw his work over at diymobile working on his civic and I was very impressed with his door pods. I can't find his name over at diymobile anymore to link you to his thread, he must use a different name over there. I just spent like 10 minutes going through the install section. It's a black honda civic hatchback if I remember correctly. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showth...highlight=Civic That one?
  2. Why? No benefit is going to be had. What is a line leveler?
  3. Birthsheets: A Marketer's Wet Dream. These are just re-makes of old Rockford designs anyways, and have been a HUGE forum boner since this spring.
  4. Probably had it reverse mounted.
  5. I know, or have met, quite a few grads of that program. One of my old roommates was one. Good luck Neil.
  6. You don't decide it. Wire it like in the diagram, and best bet it to go sealed in your case. Use mach5's recommended enclosure size.
  7. IB... the answer to keeping that trunk space
  8. Can't say... you need to use a clamp meter & find that out for yourself.
  9. Unless of course you actually want to know the correct polarity... Take a battery (9V, 1.5V, whatever), and some wire. Wire up the terminals on one coil. Touch the wire to the battery terminals (negative to negative, positive to positive), if the sub cone extends outwards, then you have the terminals on the correct polarity. Repeat for the side that has the two red terminals, then you can figure out which one is the negative & mark accordingly.
  10. I wish there were more amps with nothing more than gain control. Anyways, to elaborate.... 3dB is the point where we can hear a difference in volume, which also happens to be the point at which a crossover is said to be crossing a signal. Example: Say you are LP @ 80Hz. The filter's 3dB down point is actually what you are referring to. So, make a tone at the required frequency, and adjust the amplifier's crossover until you hear the signal volume change. And even if the crossover points are marked, rarely are they accurate anyways...
  11. Using an amps crossover is cheaping out anyways. And they are called potentiometers, or "pots" for short.
  12. If your into SQ, and have a trunked car, IB a 15" or 18" modified Q
  13. Get a DMM & measure the voltage across the amps positive & ground.
  14. lol. That's like not being sure aluminum alloy contains aluminum.
  15. I'm also going to add that power handling is greatly a function of the enclosure they are installed in. Please read "Hoffman's Iron Law" in the technical section.
  16. Better start building an ark
  17. We have had enough rain & cold here for a couple weeks. Almost has been raining every day for the last 2 weeks.
  18. I should have metered it lol
  19. Hells no! lol. Only time I will ever do that haha.
  20. Not with displacement of the port....
  21. Read it back in Grade 9 for English class.
  22. Ideally, like Sean has. Between the ring & its mount point as well as between the ring & the driver mount point. Also, would be really slick to tap holes into the ring for mounting.
