JL just wants to sell their subs with their amps. Running in series is fine. T/S parameters are measured with the coils of a woofer in series in most cases.

If you look at the graph of the specs for them. They look far better suited towards midrange duty. However, with a large enough sealed enclosure and some good processing, you could probably make them work.

Curious why they made a 30.1 instead of redesigning the 40.1.

Why hasn't anyone asked the enclosure size? That could very well not be a good swap if the enclosure isn't within Fi's spec for the SSD.

Sweet, SAZ-1500D on two ICON's is a perfect combo. I've heard it that setup in a couple different environments now. You'll be very pleased.
