  1. not a good idea. they are a true subwoofer. maybe you can pull it off to a degree, but i doubt they'll shine. and like previously mentioned, at 19pds each, they aren't lightweights. your doors will hate you, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. i'll disagree a bit. i ran mine in .17ft^3 and it was very productive. yeah, it lacked a bit of bottom end, but was still very responsive and dropped low. i liked it better ported, but they can indeed work very well in very small enclosures. btw, i still have that enclosure sitting here if your interested. 3/4" mdf, non finished. make an offer. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. i had something similiar happen as well. when i got my clarion 8s, email said teh package was delivered. but it wasn't by the door like all other packages. looked all around (or so i thought, lol) and called ups. it was a new driver who didn't want to risk the package getting stolen, he left the thing in the trash. true story! he actually put the package in one of our empty cans. i kinda wondered if it was an omen...i have yet to put power to them. been two years or so? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. infinity and mb should be scratched from the list on basis of they all sound like shit, IMO. the diamonds i like, i've not heard the rainbows. i hated my focals after awhile. they are like jl in a sense, your really buying a name, not necessarily a speaker. personal preferance? either memphis msync or sq 5.25s ( the sqs are silk tweeters, crossover allows for biamping and are componet only. the syncs allow coaxil mounting, titanium tweeter and the crossover is single amp only) or the kicker ss stuff. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. it just seems to me that orion and us amps were some of the first "cheater" amps, from mainstreme style companies anyway. rated for one thing, but able to drop to silly impedances compared to rating and produce silly power. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. what everybody else said! hope you had a good one bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. that is one sexy piece of subwooferage... wow.... i mean, wow.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. hbd big man!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. then run one amp per sub. you'll be good to go... nice, lol..harhar wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. i thought all older orion stuff, especially the HCCA stuff, could drop below rated impedance. but 800 @ 4 is sweet anyway, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. oh, and your subs DO NOT PUT OUT 2kwrms. no sub puts out power. if they did, you wouldn't need an amp, would you? they are thermally and mechanically rated for 2kwrms, but even that depends upon enclosure. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. Brother......each T20001 is stable @ 1ohm and puts out around 2600 rms and each Sub put out 2000 rms..and the impedande is 1.4..........now.....what is your opinion... each sub is 1.4? each coil, or combined? or both subs combined is 1.4? regardless, my opinion is the same. in theory doubling of power is doubling of output. HOWEVER, in the real world, that isn't going to happen in most cases. will you see a gain? more then likely. can we tell you how much? absolutely not. how much clearer can we be? do i need to type in crayon? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. i think it's rated at 2ohm, but IIRC they could handle 1 ohm loads. been awhile since i've seen an older orion... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. two on two, if impedance will allow it. meaning, if your running two subs on one amp now, and your at it's correct impedance, if you add a second amp, the impedance will be wrong and you won't be gaining anything. another thing, what Adrian is trying to get at, is in theory you'll gain 3db (if your truly doubling power), but in reality, you might not gain much more then .1db . when your chasing tenths, it's almost always better to have more power, but to be able to say how much your going to gain, that's just impossible. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. i remember the first time i heard that..." you have an anger management issue, and an over aggressive attitude towards those that infringe upon your space"..lmao..my freshman year in high school. what a crock. stay the fuck outa my space and i'm not hostile but for real, i heard the "you need to find constructive outlets for your aggressive tendencies. when you feel the need to be hostile towards someone, you need to release that hostility into something that will do good, not cause harm" i always thought releasing my hostility into those that caused it was a good thing?? anyway, i hope you get yours figured out, lol. i've been trying to get a handle on mine for 21 years or so. and i agree with ryan2, doesn't the iroc, the ninja, the car audio and the power lifting all translate into releases? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. especially if it handled 1100wrms, and had a 6" or so mounting depth!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. that commercial is sweet! and Kent, lemme get the car first, lol..... i've got a crap ton of pics on my camera, just too lazy to upload them bastages, lol. but as soon as i get the car, pics will be coming! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. wow! this is going to be good! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. subs facing passenger side, ports back...so says mr "gameoverstreeta", hehe..... daily, i prefer sub up, ports back, crx style. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. and 5 lug, short throw and maybe huffer? it's got some basics, headers, cold air intake, i wanna say x-pipe, but i'm not 100%. after a bit of reading, if it doesn't already have them, 3.73 cogs will find their way into the axle, which i'm assuming is an 8.8. anyway, i just got off the phone with the owner, and it is my car. he's contacted the previous buyer and let him know he's repossessing it, so it's just a matter of time before the first picture is taken, lol. not too mention the first 1/8th mile pass!! (gimme a break, it's all we have locally) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. and too think, i'm supposed to be buying an 86 fox body, lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. http://www.fbodyonline.com/vbarticles.php?...mp;articleid=10 all 1998 there, z28 vs cobra vs firebird and the chevy weighs less..hmmmm http://www.fbodyonline.com/vbarticles.php?...amp;articleid=8 2002 there, ss vs cobra. and the ss is lighter?? wow, lol... http://www.fbodyonline.com/vbarticles.php?...amp;articleid=9 1999 gt vs z28. and this time the stang is the lightweight..lol.. in all three of those, it's the LS1 motor and the camaro wins in every performance (straight line) catagory. http://www.fbodyonline.com/vbarticles.php?...mp;articleid=11 and for the haters...1993. z28 vs cobra. LT1 still wins the straight line catagories. and that's jsut 2 minutes of research, lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. in all h2h publications, the ss wins. i have yet to see one otherwise... http://youtube.com/watch?v=Le2o2MeoZLo&amp...ted&search= cool video where an evo gets trounced, from a roll (it's game), by a sprayed, big blocked 69 camaro..... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee e
  24. we used 2x4s and 1/8" masonite for our molds. i used to work for coast to coast sign company. there was a few times we used 3/4" or 1" hdf for faces, but mostly it was the 2x4/masonite combo. i miss the 10' chain arm saw(like a real big radial arm saw, only it was pulled by a chain attached to a crank). lol, cut rip a sheet of wood in half in about 2 seconds, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. maybe that prototype type exhaust cost the camaro, or the hood treatment? who knows? but in every publication ever printed, no obra ever beat an LS1 powered ss in anything. the cobra would run with a z28, teh z28 would kill the gt, and the ss dominated all. maybe dominated is a strong word, but it's awfully close to what happened. now throw a few hundered bucks at the stang, and bam! your competeting. however, throw a few hundred at that LS1 in the form of spray and hold on to your pants! those things love that stuff!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeee
