  1. Yeah, If you're concerned with the weight go with birch.. but if not..I say fuck it, if you countersink all screws the wood should not split. Screws should never be the only means of securing a box together. The wood glue its self will create a bond stronger than the MDF, the screws should be used to hold the MDF together while the glue dries.
  2. Not a noticeable difference in sound, there are trade offs when it comes to birch Vs MDF. Birch: less prone to split lighter less dust easier on tools MDF: More acoustically dense Cheaper Readily available in most areas. 50$ extra vs an MDF box? that's a huge price jump.. in my are a sheet of birch runs about 50 bucks vs a sheet of mdf is 35-40~
  3. I have the marine version of that battery charger and it serves me well..
  4. Dad's on a low-fat diet ever since his heart problems over 10 years ago and since he cooks, I'm on a diet too Posted this on your FB.. but... please explain to me how something like the SounDigital 8k can make 8k with such a small board? Granted I'm used to looking at Korean boards.. but I would like a fairly technical answer if anyone has it but 8k is helluva lot of power from something that tiny I rarely check FB Anyway, good design is one thing that comes to mind. Higher spec components (mostly talking about mosfets) different switching frequencies allow for differently designed power supplys etc etc. hmmm Dey jus work, mmkay ? Still waiting to get my hands on one to test.... yeah I'd like to get my hands on one too.. but for the price I can get similar Korean made amps.. i dunno.

  6. never understood the concept of the cyclone sub
  7. sounds easy, but the metal on a geo metro is about as thin as it gets, very difficult to weld to without blowing through. doable but, with the welder we borrowed not even a friend of ours (went to school for welding) could do it. Im looking into some type of panel epoxy type stuff, and doing a few layers to the outside of the car. Roll some sheet metal into a U shape and put it on front and back then seal with some kind of sealant would maybe work. or go all chop shop and find one local and cut the roof off of it and weld it back on the Geo

  15. Looks much better now. dropp it!
  16. 4300/14.4=298.6amps!!!!!!! you arent going to run either one for much more than five to ten seconds at full volume before your voltage drops to low.thats if you can stay at 14.4 volts, lower than that the amps go higher. You can chose whatever you want. Are you competing? The longer you want it loud the more batteries you better buy. Even more if you factor in efficiency. I run about 4k off of a stock 150 amp alt with two Deka's and I run into the high 12's
  17. Rust + Bass = destruction
  18. I tried to talk Mark into doing it a long time ago pre-10" Xcon and he said Scott wouldn't do it. Talked to Nick and Nick explained that the cone geometry on big 10" woofers is not very good.
