  1. i would double baffle (or if you're using larger wood you can single baffle. for my bl i used 1inch) and also use allthread rods for support in the box, the BL's are pretty hefty woofers.
  2. thats what my local shop charges ~50 dollars an hour
  3. where were the LED's connected to? on the board or did you wire it to something else?
  4. i may have to come up to canada!
  5. most problems are 90% human error and 10% manufacturer error, i owned my BL for a year+. instead of wiring it to 2 ohms i accidentally wired it to .5 ohms and thought something was wrong, nick walked me through everything and then found out the problem. he later called me and let me know what was going on. Whatever your experience is obviously a new phenomena to Nick. Have you even tried using it on another amp? have you tried to measure the load when it is all wired up? I would rather buy a recone from the company that made a very high quality woofer.
  6. couldn't you install the batteries under the rear seats? the D3100's aren't too tall. you could try to squeeze some extra space out of that or try the Sundown Audio Nightshades as they prefer 4-5cuft boxes per sub for the 18's
  7. look at all that ass!
  8. You could try CRX style box, i'm not quite sure how it would work in an SUV
  9. This applies with anything you want to buy worth any value. You seek what other people say, would you buy car worth 30 grand that will only last 100,000 miles and will need constant maintenance? or would you buy a quality car that could last double that with minimal upkeep? RD is very very shady. Personally customer service for me is 90% of the appeal to me 10% of the product. If something breaks (and its inevitable) I want to be able to have a quick response and be able to get things repaired in a timely manner.
  10. piss. figures, after i just got one of the old ones. ggrrr lol Look around on other forums i bet people are selling them. or look in our FS/FT thread http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/Almost-FI-Q-12-t35219.html you can ask nick if he could recone+rebasket to a 15
  11. Holy crap no way. You are condoning doing business with the shadiest internet car audio company EVER. Just plain wrong, even if his stuff performed which in general it doesn't it would be a completely idiotic maneuver to buy anything from Steve. 1 minute of searching and you'll find at least 50 people he's screwed. Really easy. :( wof131: I dare you to do the same thing with SSA. I'm aware of one person that Mark and Aaron wouldn't warranty a subwoofer for, an XCON that was abused. I'd rather buy subwooders from a shady crack dealer than RD, just look on other forums and you'll see it's just not an SSA biased thing.
  12. haha duran, Should we pull a Jay and Silent bob beat down?
  13. *moved thanks ^^ I've heard that the MB Quart stuff isn't the other Maxxsonics shitty quality, BUT that's all hear-say. But the quality has dropped significantly
  14. please post in the correct section. This is becoming an out of hand problem. Please post in either General or "Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical"

i actually remember seeing that when i first got on ssa! haha. be careful with that amp its a beast.
  16. some batteries may not have enough CCA or CA's so when it gets cold it may not be able to output the necessary amps to start your car.
  17. No I have the best username on here! Hmm.. I think i do.
  18. Sig Quoted ^^
  19. Julian replied to dbrown23's topic in XS Power
Well XS says the D3100's can handle from 4000-5000 watts per battery so 2-3 would be sufficient.
  20. Hence why mine was 'loud.' The type of music I was listening to at the time took full advantage of the range that my box worked in. If I tried to play anything other than a specific type of music, it was terrible in my opinion. Typically you'll find fourth order bandpasses with "cheaper" subwoofers. Quote from The 12Volt

everything but a ford focus I think they look quite ugly. probably used would be best. it seems that american made cars really don't favor hatchbacks.
  22. check the voice coils with a DMM and see what the ohm reading is.
  23. DC alts =<3 hopefully with a new SUV or hatchback i'll be doing 2 18s haven't decided yet
