I would wait for them to be 100% broken in. My peak dropped from 55hz to 38hz within a few weeks and I actually got louder on the meter.

I sold my 18's to my friend to Don... and this is what he did with them.... It did a 47.7 in KAOS which is a 3 min run in the center of the dash. The enclosure is some thick ass PVC with MDF plugs and aeroports. Sadly besides myself and him we were the only ones to run SSA.

Expanding foam can help fill any obvious voids in your trunk lid/etc. It should help a little bit.

About 3+db's louder on the dash and around 2-3 in the kick. added only about 3k of extra power.
