Single SA-12 Ported Box Size
Would there be an audible difference if I went with say 38hz instead of 35hz? In any case, thanks for the input. I'll be going with 1.5 tuned to 35hz.

Single SA-12 Ported Box Size
I recently just got a SA-12 D2 in a 1 cube sealed box running off an AQ1200d at 1 ohm. I wanna get a ported box and was wondering what size and tuning I should go with if I mainly listen to rap, going for more spl, and is good with the power level I'm using. I originally thought to go with 1.5 cubes w/ 35 hz tuning. Does that sound about right or should I go with something else?

SSA Icon 10 Enclosure
Currently I'm running a 10" Icon in a 1.5 cube box at 32hz with 1000-1200rms. Is there much of a difference if I used a smaller box such as 1-1.35 cubes with the same tuning?

Clipping earlier than before?
I have a AQ1200d with the clipping indicator on the gain knob, and I noticed that the light blinks earlier than it did before. For example, on a certain song the volume on the HU would be 22 without any clipping. Now at 22 on the same song, it blinks, so I bring it down to 21 and no blinks. I noticed this happened a couple months before also, and it feels like the power of the system is depleting. Is this a sign the electrical is giving out? Right now, I'm running a 150a alternator, big 3, d34 yellowtop for the front only, and 1400rms for the total of the amps.

midrange/ passive crossover compatibility
Thanks for the comments. I knew it wasn't gonna be that easy.

midrange/ passive crossover compatibility
I have a spare set of tweeters and crossovers from a 4" mb quart comp set. My question is, can I get any set of 6.5 midbass speakers and use the mb quart crossovers with it? Or are there certain factors that have to be looked at for one to be compatible with the other. I could just get a whole set of 6.5 comps but I remembered I had some extra parts and wanted to see if I can just get some midranges and use what I have.

want to see what can be done
Not to thread jack, but just wondering with all the talk about aeroports, how much space would you save compared to a slot port? I'm considering to use aeroports on the next box I have built but it seems like slot porting is the way to go on here.

Will it work as a good starting battery as well?

Just wondering which one is better or are they about the same in performance?

Power Wire Strands and Couplers
Is it bad to lose strands of power wire overtime from lets say, disconnecting the wire from terminals and clamps, or even accidentally slicing some off when cutting away at the insulation? Do you lose conductivity and/or lessen amp load of the wire? Also, would using a coupler to add on to an existing power wire to make it longer be okay to do? Or would I have to run a new longer wire to the size I need?

rain water on mdf
When making a new box, how many layers of fiberglass should I have on there? Is one good enough or should it be multiple layers?
-
rain water on mdf
The leak has been fixed three or four times and its alot of work since it has to do with the rear glass, which needs to be taken out, rust issues, and sealant issues. Its really something I dont wanna deal with anymore. The car is pretty old and is my daily driver. So time and money are a concern also and I'd rather just try ways to get around the problem. How well would spraying scoth guard on the carpet work?

rain water on mdf
I have a slight leak in my trunk area which causes a small amount of rain water to drip on my carpeted enclosure. My question is, how bad is it on the box? Will it deteriorate the mdf? I know the main response will be to fix the leak, but its been a repeated fix that keeps coming back.

upgrade from icon 10?
Ok I see what you're saying. I do wanna try for more spl which is why I was thinking about the dc 4xl 10. The idea was to just get a louder sub(4xl 10) and just drop it in the same box the icon was in, and power it with another aq1200d in the future. I am hesitant with going with a 2 10" setup since I dont really wanna go with a bigger box than I already have now because of space limitations.

i-bar and short posts height
thanks for the response. I will recheck my measurements to see what can fit.

DC lvl 4xl 10 tuning and port area
With this size of a box, am I limited to using 1500rms rated, or can I go higher in power? Or does it really depend on other factors?

upgrade from icon 10?
How would a single DC 4xl 10 with 2 aq 1200ds compare to the icon in the same box(1.5cu in, 32hz)? Big difference in output or a waste of time?
-
DC lvl 4xl 10 tuning and port area
Will 32hz and 16-18sq in. of port area work with a 4xl 10? I already have a box thats 1.5 cubes at 32hz and wanted to know if I can just drop it in.

i-bar and short posts height
Just wondering how much height does an i-bar and the short posts add to the batteries? I'm thinking of upgrading to a 3400 under the hood but I'm worried about clearance issues with the top.

Stinger 0 gauge, 250a or 300a fuse?
ok thanks. I got some fuses coming in the mail anyway and one of them is a 250a.

Stinger 0 gauge, 250a or 300a fuse?
Does anybody know what the max load Stinger 0 gauge wire has? I have my h.o.(150a) alternator to batt. wire fused at 300a, and I'm wondering if that fuse rating is too high for the wire and if I need to drop down to a 250a fuse. Is this even something to worry about? I just wanna make sure the wire is fused correctly just in case something happens.
