  2. yeah, he's quick. the breed is made up of great dane (don't see it), german shepard ( a little obvious, lol) and greyhound (you see it when he's on you in about half a second, lol) will probably be in the suit again for area searches this weekend. tis a good day to be had.....free beer!! lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee dude. i wanna do that....he'd probably knock me over the minute, err second he hits me. so does the dog just bite you or are you pushed back from impact?
  3. got more stuff done, and its coming along nicely i decided to go with the natural lines of my panel. My naked door panel the "pod" not yet closed: Fits like a glove: basically what the shape of it is going to be: more to come: *trim the sides *reinforcing the back *adding the baffle *cover it up

  8. Ok, so I feel comfortable going with the Seas. I'll check out my door after work and see how much room I have available. P.S. I really appreciate everyone's patience with my n00b questions. If you ever have any questions about computers/networking (and it has nothing to do with Windows), shoot me a PM. SSA forums FTW! yup. search for seas: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/index.php and you will find oodles of info, with seas being the hot boner. they specialize in DIY over there (duh lol).
  9. also dont forget to keep these in mind: http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=8208
  10. Well im sure jacob will chime in, but for the most part they are very realiable. However there is no warranty coverage for 1/2ohm operation. And if you do it you need 1 or 2 good batteries besides your main one under the hood. And make sure they are good batts at that. 0 gauge wiring a must and big 3 upgrade important as well. You have to make sure you can keep it fed to avoid damage, keep that in mind. on top of THAT, a decent alternator
  11. well you have 4 channels of amplification, and you hook up the mids to 2 channels and the tweets to the other 2 and the active crossover lets you set the crossover points from those channels 1 and 2, and 3 and 4 channels. that way, ohm load doesnt matter with the active. its nothing like a passive. i hope that made sense. usually people use a separate crossover for that, but luckily the sundown has a built-in crossover. IT guy huh? the one thing about computers i still dont know much about. networking. ask me anything about hardware, i can hold my own, but with networking, i art a n00b hehe.
  12. about the 8 ohm comment, the amp will run at 8 ohms. it will run more efficiently and your amp will love you for it. read this. its very good: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31
  13. ya protecting my "classic", just dont want to cut any holes in my car. also if i do, please help me understand. like how big? i just snapped a couple of shots and here are my doors: and where would i cut it? i have no problem cutting through the door metal, its just the door panel i dont want to cut through
  14. i dont know how i can do IB....my doors aren't set up like normal doors, they have no speaker holes in them. Cut a whole in your door metal, seal the skin and mount them like you are. no thanks....crossed my mind when i started planning, but i want to keep my door panels as stock as possible, which is why im doing what im doing. no hole cutting is going on in my doors
  15. are you bi-amping? if not, you can use the extra 2 channels on your 4 channel bridged at 8 ohms for the sub until you get your sub amp.
  16. joke went right over my head.....vacuum hose is the correct term
  17. i dont know how i can do IB....my doors aren't set up like normal doors, they have no speaker holes in them.
